Its bad compared to something like FFXIV. I was able to level all my jobs to 60 fairly easy in FFXIV and it really didn't fell that grindy since I was doing dungeons with people and fates. Now then if I play FFXI now merits are a huge grind and job points even worse since mobs give so few job points when you kill them.

The anima weapons are pretty darn grindy (2nd stage being by far the worst, while the 3rd stage is laughably easy by comparison)

Most of what I do in the game right now is PvP (because im actually pretty decent at it) because I'm trying to secure a spot on the leaderboard for The Feast. Which I have probably done at this point, so this promotion comes at a perfect time for me.

Having said that, it makes me really miss Ballista. It's a total shame that they never bothered to try to fix some of its isssues.... As far as I can tell it's completely dead now- although maybe people still do it on a different server... though I enjoyed ballista a little differently from the hardcore-est people.
