I would very much like to have my US-purchased PC and FFXI copy of the game allow me to enter text ingame that is in Japanese script. I started playing FFXI in '05 and began studying Japanese in '08. I installed a language bar and all that, but the game doesn't know how to read those characters when I try to type them in.

I have been told that there are third-party programs that will allow me to do this, but I do not seek to do anything that would violate Terms of Serviceなど。

Again Ven, this is Site Feedback and not game feedback.

And as I hear it, the US version of the game is capable of doing it, but SE added some variety of script blocking.

Quite right. If I had the ability to move my own thread, I would. "Feedback and Suggestions" grabbed my attention and I hastily posted the thread I came to create.

I hope that site administrators will correct this error for me as well as respond with definitive information regarding the intended issue.

There have been many thread asking to fix the forum setup on this, unfortunately, they have all seemed to have gone unanswered.

As for the imput issue, I myself and many others have already agreed that this needs to be adressed. I believe there was even form MOD responce to one, but unfortunately there seems to be no intent in the future From SE to do so.

This is just my impression, but it seems very much like they do not want us to communicate with the JP player base and I propose this question.
Would Squre Enix care to clarify their stance on this issue please?
