Why did login points change so drastically?

It Looks like login points have changed considerably.

In the month of April 11-May 3rd, there are 22 days worth of login points. For 500 points on day 1 and 100 points on each day after that, we get 500 + 21*100 = 2600 points.

With the most expensive item being 1500 points now, I'm left with 1100 points. This is worse than the previous system!

In the previous system, a 3000-pt. item and a 4600 pt. total, left me with 1500 pts left over to spend in the same month.

This month, we can carry over up to 1500 points from the next month, so 2600 + 1500 = 4100, which is still lower than the previous campaign system.

What gives? There was no mention this anywhere. Also, the theme for April is just strange. Why give away items to make JSE weapons? It's just a narrow/specific reward, when typically login campaigns have ALWAYS been about variety.

    I just don't understand.

I didn't notice it until I logged in today. And after reading how it works now it sounds awful compared to what we've had before.

So I guess this means they are trying to get rid of the Login system and trying to use content like Ambuscade to keep players logging in daily. I hope it works, because I certainly don't feel compelled to log in daily anymore.

Login system was supposed to be a one off, or very rare event.

Now it's constant, so they have to scale it back to keep it relevant.

It's less work to just have to log in once for the unique reward, but still keeps people subscribed.

Yeah, for me it has definitely made the difference between resubbing every couple of months and staying consistently subbed even if I wont play much at times.

It's like this for me: With the erratic way I play the game many times I only have 20 mins to log in, get points with my mules and check on my garden/rearing, and then I just log out. Heck there have been entire months when I've done only that, but it was still worth paying the sub because even with such extremely limited time I've always felt like I was getting something done. So if they stop making login points worth it I'll just think twice before renewing my sub if I know I wont be able to play much the following month, and will probably just unsub until I know I'll have time to play consistently again.

So the way I see it if you have time to play daily login points wont matter as much because most of the things you get with login you can get far more of just spending some time playing, but for people like me who can't/wont play consistently login points are the one thing giving the sub worth.

I'm in the same boat. Between waiting for balance changes to Beastmaster, and getting items from login points, what I am supposed to do, when I can only play semi-casually? These changes weren't even mentioned at all. We weren't even asked "What do you want to see from login points rewards?"

    I ...am ....disappointed.

I like it. People freak out over change. Being able to carry over points is really nice.

...But I've already described how your purchasing power is diminished. Even with points being carried over, you can buy in fewer quantities.

You're assuming we won't still get the 1100 point day, or other bonuses to put us in the 4000+ range. On top of that, many of the cruft prizes were removed and other desirable/big-ticket items have had their prices drastically slashed. Pending seeing how the day X bonuses pan out, I'd say we got a large upgrade.

We're not getting those bonuses any more. It's a new formula, and we're likely to end up with 2500-2600 points by the end. They did adjust the price of a number of items to be more in line with the total points we get, but the cost of the special items is still a bit too much.

"You will receive an initial bonus the first day you log in.
    First login
You will be awarded 500 points.

    Second login and beyond
You will be awarded 100 points."
