Yeah. The event isn't going to wait for me to get another class leveled to 99 and geared thats party friendly and lets me do what I want.

It's not going to wait for me to find a more welcoming set of people who are just going to be ok with my under-geared RDM sitting on the front lines, or even just going /sch to support. (read:not main heal).

Those are special cases and exceptions that tend to show up rarely among desperate or generally more accepting players. So, I go on, I look to see if there's some friends I know wanting to go in, then I go in - alone if I have to.

Can we get an official response if there is a chance at the rewards being changed having a 2 week delay?

The zone appears to only have capacity for 8 arenas. At least that's my estimated # when I counted party leads and soloers.

There's huge incentives for 'hardcore' players to spam the content. Which is really the core of the problem. Takes too long to enter so 'groups' have a small window and our group can do 1 orc 1 dragon on a good night. We would sometimes like to do more but the wait is too long. This punishes casual players more than the hardcore ones who are on 24/7 spamming this content.

The rewards tier points are also far too high for 'casual' players to obtain at least up to the desired +1 items monthly given the congestion. At 500 points a day, it would require 29 days to get the required points to hit all the +1 item tiers. Incredibly unfair to some players. And driving soloers to spam the heck out of this.

I propose allow points to be carried over , say 10,000 max, & limit entry to once per day per RoE, so technically up to 4 times from the 4 RoE.
Add an RoE hallmark reward for 'clearing' the Dragon/Orcs, similar to FFXIV dailies duty finder reward. So up to 2 daily bonuses. This amount should be in the 200-300 hallmark range, allowing for decent accumulation of hallmarks even for soloers who do 1 kill per day.

The FFXI systems are archaic, and yet we're being forced to grind through this content with F8 Tabbing for hours and hours.

    My suggestions:

Limit people spamming by: 1) increase reward per kill with a 'daily' bonus to make repeat kills less appealing, and 2) Add more books to avoid crowding and griefing by PC players on people trying to entry by standing right on the books 3) Add an upgrade path for the NQs to +1 them in case someone comes up short on points? If not, they are a waste of space and forces people to ho the 14,400 (?) hallmark tier to get all +1 gears 4) don't reset hallmarks? I'm still not clear of if these reset or not.

I really don't understand what the developers were thinking, how they allowed a small minority of people to spam it and ruin it for everyone. If people rationed themselves and did a few runs a day everyone could enter.

I don't get how Square could make this unlimited and spammable, especially when it's new.

All they are doing is letting a minority gorge and not letting anyone else do it at all. I was of the mindset to do 1-2 runs a day and I can't even do that, which means I'll be punished when they cycle the rewards.

What I see flooding the book with access checks is not a 'small minority'.

It's the silent majority that does not want to deal with the meta-party players who are cherry picking players who are literally asking for a party and aren't getting them because they're not a part of the in crowd.

Meanwhile, yesterday with a wireless connection, I did 9 runs (7 normal 1 Difficult, 1 wipe), most of which by bringing in people who I could fit in party while still making the group work. So of those runs I maybe had two of them solo. The rest was going with at least one other, or two other people.

Again, I will stress, this was supposed to be designed to be low-manned or even soloed. That's what 'accessible' means. Don't blame the player-base for what the designer are responsible for. A groups of players, one way or another isn't responsible for what's going on here. Meanwhile, if you want to get in, don't be picky with what difficulty or who you're partying with, and you'll get in.

Worst case, look me up and if I've got a spot, I'll pull you into one of my runs. Ask Olor, I'll get you in the zone at the very least.

I would rather solo it on a pup then have a whm LOL and drop the party when i say any dd can do dragon on vd, its just stupid easy.

The people ruining it are the elitest who refuse to invite others, not the people who want to solo and play the jobs they like.

Right, everyone is flooding with clicks because that's the only way to get a chance at entry, but S-E's lack of vision (in anticipating the congestion aside) , the problem is exascerbated by people with lots of time spamming it for points. So it's not wrong with placing some blame on a minority of dedicated players because on my servers, its always the same few camping the books everytime I go.

Ultimately though, I don't begrudge people for doing what the game encourages to do, which is why I want S-E to add daily RoE rewards for killing these fights ONCE per day and move on and do other content, rather than spamming the same fight for points.

I think this would help, but it wouldn't fix it unless you could get a full +1 set of gear per month by only soloing dragon once per day... the orcs are too hard for me to solo, the lowest difficulty is 119 and I am just not quite able to clear 119 solo (plus I'd take forever trying).

So I'd still be spamming the dragon a few times a day. But still, a one time daily point bonus would help a lot.

They designed the system to require folks to spam to get all the goodies - heck you can't even just choose which peice/peices of gear you want, if you want, say, the +1 body, you have to spam a LOT to get it, especially if you're soloing on lower difficulties. I like that I don't have to spend hallmarks to get the gear (so I can also work on a cape, yay!) but I dislike that the gear goes in a certain order so you're pretty much forced to spam to get specific peices.

Also, I love playing with Hyrist, it's nice. If there are other folks out there on Asura that just want to chill, get some points, have some fun, they are a great person to party with.

I actually like your solution, honestly. It's one of the more well thought out ones in the pile.

But yes, it is wrong to blame the people with lots of time spamming it, they're a symptom, not a cause. If the congestion issues were resolved, or your idea in place, the fact that they would spam for points would be irrelevant because people's wait times would be well within tolerance levels.

Hell, even if there was just a proper queue system on top of more zones to join in, this would solve a lot of trouble for people, as it would mean people had a guaranteed slot to go in, if they were patient. But I don't think FFXI has the capacity for that.

Oh and Olor, thank you for the awareness. So you don't have to guess; I am male. It is ok to refer to me as he. You're a better person than me for using the gender neutral until you were certain.

Ha ha, yeah I try not to guess because it's pretty impossible to tell. People always refer to me with male pronouns so I am acutely aware of how easy it is to guess wrong! (I use female pronouns ^^)
