A charmless game, made seemingly on the cheap, with no content, no fun, horrible ideas, terrible community, extremely low player numbers...around 1/4 of what FFXI has and most of all, a game that could die before FFXI. The fact it's still around at all is due to Square throwing money at it, any other company would of pulled the plug on it or the company would of gone bust at such a catastrophic failure.

It's just boring and terrible to play, I don't play it for the same reason I never played any other of the worst games ever made. To my shame I bought the game at release but I will never disgrace my pc by running it again.

I'm not playing FF14 because I'm playing FF11. It's almost impossible to play two MMOs at the same time and play them well, especially at an end game level.

I pleyed the beta and it was a horrible attempt at a WoW clone. SE needs to not follow what is the current "in" and think ontheir own two feet. Yes I know this got them into trouble in the past, but that's the risk of the market(No I'm not talking about ecconomy.).

They didn't listen to us in Alpha through open beta what was wrong with the game, rushed it out, and completely ignored the player base. That is the #1 reason that they game is not gone right.

My reason is simple: my PC is a card-carrying member of the AARP. My PC still runs well and can do everything I need it to do. I'm not an avid gamer, so I have no interest in spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on the parts for a good gaming PC.

I still enjoy my FFXI, and my Eeek is as badass as ever. Get off my lawn, FFXIV!

To add to this, it's extremely hard for any MMO to play get back on a first impression these days. FFXIV pretty much had one big major chance to impress on launch and they blew it. However, the ironic thing is that SE won't let this game die, they'll just throw money at it, then release a port on PS3 at some time later to make some money back.

I will say that the game is getting better and better since it's horrible release. And it should be a free game well into November ish, the way it's looking.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a 'relaunch' of FFXIV with the PS3 version during the holiday season. I think that will be the make-or-break point for FFXIV.
