So, it's a really expensive way to synthesize something, I guess... Lvl 59 clothcraft, lighthing crystal + kit = 1 wool thread.

Ooh, I didn't know about /lastsynth though. That is very useful.

It's not meant to be crafted for the resulting product, but for the skillups. It's significantly easier to buy a single item and put it into a crystal than to hunt down multiple items. It's meant to save time rather than gil.

The skill ups just aren't guaranteed

Also they aren't always necessarily the most cost-effective synth but they will generally be the most accessible.

Some, however, can be profitable. Clothcraft 15 (red grass thread) made me some money.
