Is there any way to get the Steam Controller working with the steam version of FFXI Seekers addition? I have tried setting it up as just a gamepad, but neither the gamepad configuration for POL or FFXI will detect it. I thought I could just set the FFXI gamepad to xinput, but it still will not use the controller.
As a second attempt, I tried launching pol as a non-steam shortcut and set the controller to use keyboard keys, but it won't see any key presses from the controller either. I did this because there is a bug in polboot (or something) that causes steam to think you exited the app from steam when POL launches.

Has anyone been successful at using the controller at all with FFXI?

Edit 2016-01-10: I solved it. I found out that in order for the controller to work at all, the steam overlay has to work and it has to be running in big picture mode. So I finally figured out why the overlay doesn't work with FFXI, you have to run steam as administrator. As soon as you set it to run as admin, launch BPM and then FFXI Steam sees the controller as a Xbox 360 game pad (I set it as Gamepad template) for pol config and FFXI config.
