Me gets what you're saying. I was just referring to the basic structure. I kinda like little twists tho. I guess I can appreciate the simplicity when it comes to ZNM since you have alot of killing and repeating the same mobs for different seals.Actually there are some core difference that make them different,
VNM System had Random Upgrades. Very random. Anywhere from 1/1 to some people going 30+. VNMs had "Shadow" System. You'd have to look up for full details, But basically if you popped the VNM (teir 3+) without a shadow, You had 0 Chance of getting the good drops. On top of that, Each VNM was a free-roaming monster with a decent respawn time, Compared to ZNMs where the ??? Respawn was relatively short. Plus when VNMs were popular, you occasionally had to search multiple zones to find the mob you want, as it may not be up in one of the zones. (This was especially painful in Abyssea, But the Shorter Respawn REALLY helped here, So no complaints)
the ZNM System had 100% Upgrade chances up until i think the Pre-Final Step (Hydra/Khim/Cerb), Where the Upgrade was not 100%. However, Each NM up to and including all of those Could at all times drop any item in their Drop Pool, Unlike the VNM system and the "Shadow" system with the VNMs. Also the ZNMs were always spawned in the same spot and ???.
They are at a basic level the Same. Get item > pop NM > Get other item. But its these core difference that make the ZNM system better in comparison.
IN my eyesI'm just trying to defend my opinion.
