Name change?

I'm not sure where else to post this, I've attempted to contact a GM in game and got a canned response and on the support center I was given information on FFXIV not FFXI.

When Bismarck and Seraph merged, I lost my original name. (A former LS mate created mules to keep several of us from using our names, basically a jerk). Some LS mates got their names back but I quit around then so never tried. I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of some help here as I'd really like that name back, I'm kind of attached to it.

It's not a service FFXI offers regularly, only for a very limited time after a server merge takes place.
There's one way to do it, but it'll cost you money:

-Transfer to another server and make a mule with your current name on your current server.
-Transfer back to your own server 3 days later and meet the "This name has been taken" prompt.

The other way is wait until another merge takes place and hope that your server is the one being axed.

In the scenario I described, it was offered since it was a case of harassment and it happened quite a while after the server merge without any charge.
