Footwork
Accrued at Monk Job Level 65, Footwork: Adds kick attacks to auto-attacks while this effect is active. I hate the change to this skill but it has to be more useful then it is now. 4 full minutes of downtime isn't ideal, but I can see not blowing up DPS balance. How about some middle ground?

Accrued at Monk Job Level 75, Mantra: Increases the max HP of party members within area of effect. So just have us grind merits for an awesome skill and give us 7 minutes of downtime? Umm that sucks.

Formless Strikes
Accrued at Monk Job Level 75, Formless Strikes: While in effect, melee attacks will not be considered physical damage. No effect on weapon skills. So just have us grind merits for an awesome skill and give us 7 minutes of downtime? Umm that sucks.

I have a few ideas that would make MNK.
1) Counterstance - Change it so it does not reduce defense, but eliminates any chance of guarding. Then introduce:
2) Guardstance - greatly increases your chances of guarding and increases guard skill, but eliminates the possibility to counter. Similar to Hasso/Seigan they share a timer and buff slot.
3) Invigorate is a regular trait obtained at level 50, with a 10/tic regen effect. The merits into invigorate add a stoneskin effect to chakra. The SS amount is half of the hp healed.
4) lower chi blast to 1 minute timer and:
5) Have penance become a regular trait and inflict plague and have the merits merely extend the duration. Have the trait only originally last 30 seconds, but each merit adds 6 seconds, so 5/5 means the plague can until the chi blast timer is ready.
6) A new ability Curl which increases defense by 12.5% with a 15 second recast timer. Lasts 3 minutes and stacks onto itself similar to boost. This goes hand in hand with:
7) Chi Wave. Deals non-elemental damage to target. Damage varies with defense.
how about up the WS : Victory Smite to what it used to be ?
