- The second chapter in Rhapsodies of Vana'diel has been added
- Players must fulfill the following prerequisites to receive the first mission.
- Completion of the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel Chapter 1 mission Ring My Bell.
* The mission may not be available depending on the character's progress in the Chains of Promathia missions.
* Registration of the Rise of the Zilart, Treasures of Aht Urhgan, and Wings of the Goddess expansion disks are required to make further mission progress.
- Certain key items obtainable through the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel Chapter 2 missions will make adventuring in Vana'diel even easier than before.

- A new area, Escha – Ru'Aun, has been added.
Escha – Ru'Aun will become available to players through the progression of Chapter 2 of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, and contains foes and notorious monsters even more fearsome than those found in Escha - Zi'tah. Escha – Ru'aun serves not only as a stage for Rhapsodies of Vana'diel to play out, but also a place for players to participate in battle content such as Geas Fete and engage in more peaceful activities such as fishing and gathering.
- Escha Silt
Escha silt can be earned from vanquishing regular and notorious monsters in Escha – Ru'Aun and can be used in the following ways.Teleportation in Escha areas /
Purchasing of beneficial effects active in Escha areas /
Purchasing of temporary items usable in Escha areas /
Purchasing of key items and augments specific equipment- Escha Beads
Escha beads can be earned from vanquishing notorious monsters in Escha – Ru'Aun and can be exchanged for materials used to augment equipment.
- Vorseals
Players will be able to purchase new types of vorseals by vanquishing notorious monsters in Escha – Ru'Aun. These new vorseals may be used in both Escha areas, and may be activated by speaking with Dremi in Escha – Ru'Aun (H-11) in exchange for escha silt. Vorseals will activate upon entering Escha – Ru'Aun and last for a total of sixty minutes (Earth time)
* Escha silt payments are only required upon first receiving the vorseal. No silt is consumed upon activation.
* Once sixty minutes has passed, players may reactivate the vorseals by changing areas and then returning.
- Transporation Via Eschan Portals
Examining the ??? targets that appear throughout Escha – Ru'Aun will provide players with a temporary item known as an eschan droplet*.
Eschan droplets can be used to teleport players from eschan portals one through fifteen in numerical order. Once an eschan portal has been examined, players may be teleport to it at any time for an eschan silt fee.
* Players may only possess one eschan droplet at a time.
- A new quests, A Barrel of Laughs, has been added.
- To receive the quest, players must have completed the quest To Laugh Is to Love, wait for one Vana'diel day to pass, and speak with the Mischief Marker in Western Adoulin (J-11).
- Treasure Caskets have been added to Escha – Zi'Tah and Escha – Ru'Aun.
- The number of grimslights appeared in Escha – Zi'Tah has been increased.
- Unity Concord has undergone the following additions and adjustments.
- Yoran-Oran and Sylvie now lead their own new Unities.
- The minimum number of players required to participate in Wanted battles has been decreased from three to one.
- The new Unity leaders have their own Unity information, Unity rankings, and Unity chat messages.
- The maximum attribute values of Unity leader alter egos obtained via Unity rankings have been increased.
- The amount of Unity accolades required for changing Unities has been adjusted.
- Records of Eminence have undergone the following additions and adjustments.
- New objectives have been added.
- The requisite number of enemies that must be vanquished for the following objectives has been increase from five to ten.
Conflit: Escha – Zi'Tah I through V- New items are now obtainable in exchange for sparks of eminence.

- Katsunaga in Mhaura (G-10) now displays new types of fish when inquiring about types of fish that the player has reeled in.

- The following quests have been adjusted.
- Promotion: Sergeant Major / Promotion: First Lieutenant
The amount of time that must pass to reattempt these quests has been decreased from one Vana'diel day to one minute (Earth time).
