Why not use another single target while waiting for recasts? Ga spells are by there very nature supposed to be not as efficient when used on single mobs but very efficient with multi

Also not really sure what you mean by twice as much as they should... going thru the chart of values the dmg/mp ratios aren't too much different to the point where if you halved the cost of ga spells there would never be a reason to not use them if they are up and you aren't afraid of hitting other stuff. Only way I could see them decreasing cost as much as you say while avoiding that would be to greatly decrease the base dmg a bit and greatly increase the penalty for multiple targets

I think they just seem more mp hoggish because you just compare cost possibly within a tier forgetting that gas also have base dmgs more on par with the next tier of single targets.
