Trusts do not cap at 99, they cap at 119. Look at their HP and MP changing when you switch from a 99 weapon and armor set to a level 119 one. They get stat boosts as your average item level increases. They just don't get all the ability boosts that we do from armor and weapons, and their max stats are lower than ours.

    [dev1264] Alter Ego Adjustments

Alter egos will be able to be called forth in high-tier mission battlefields and Voidwatch.

How will this help Voidwatch as you cannot summon trusts while in ally? Does this mean all Voidwatches will be 6 manable? By 6 manable I mean being able to CAP lights WITHOUT luck that you have the jobs that have the procs, or that you will get all hints on procs regardless of being JA, Magic, or ws, then you can dismiss a trust and call the appropriate one that has said proc.

IE if you are a dd with no magic abilities, would you get magic procs so you could dismiss a trust and call one that has the magic proc needed.

Also if this is the case is there going to be an increase in the amount of flux's to pop the voidwatches? As I can see soloing taking a long time for some of these fights doing this method.

Or is trusts being expanded so that you CAN call them in an alliance situation.

    Please elaborate further.

I find the "trusts during Maat fights" thing to be a bit off-putting. I'm still a new player for the most part (just finally got the game going again now that I have the time) and I'm slowly working up my BLU while I obtain all the spells as I go. One thing I've been looking forward to is the inevitable Maat fight in the future and all the preparation and planning I'd need to do to get past it. I know I'll still be able to do it solo (and I plan to) but it does kind of diminish the achievement a little knowing that most other new players will be steam rolling through him with Trusts. I know, that's a petty thing to care about (a personal flaw) but meh.

Then again, I guess since you have to go through Rhapsody missions first to unlock that option, I likely wouldn't have done it yet anyway and thus would need to solo him regardless. I'm OCD about doing things in order.

Have they said what level/gear you'll need to be able to progress through the rhapsody missions? Just curious.

Content for Rhapsodies is geared to level 60, is what it sounds like. The changes to make it easier to do early things looks to be for the idea that they are assuming that old players will come back to finish storyline, and many of them won't have their old login information, so will start new characters and new accounts. Rhapsodies down't require old mission completion so that someone that remembers the story doesn't have to do it all again if they came back fresh, and letting Trusts be in a Maat fight means that they won't have to spend time farming gear and combat/magic skill before fighting him.

My hope for trusts continuing into the future!!

Well, I'm hoping they will keep cycling through the trusts that are already out as to keep giving us the option to keep obtaining the ones we missed or should of gotten by now, by let us get them through out the many years to come even after the Rhapsodies/ffxi gone mobile has been released. I'm sure they we'll be doing it for the mobile version of ffxi.

Ah okay, that makes sense -- thanks for the clarification . I still plan to do everything in order, which means I'll still be soloing that fight, but I can see the benefit to people that would rather just get through it quickly. I'm taking my time with the game, so if it takes me awhile to break past 70, that's cool with me.

I can't understand most of Shane's posts either.

Rhapsodies is looking to be wrapping up each storyline in sequence, so doing the Rhapsodies missions for the core game to unlock Trusts in the Maat fight shouldn't spoil anything about Zilart or Promathia, but we'll see when it releases. If they're releasing the rewards like that, the logic says it should be before you need it for that progress in the storyline.

Yeah, I can understand them doing it that way, especially with all the new/returning players wanting to experience the story. I know the Maat fight was a point of contention for some people, even causing some to leave the game at that point (I've talked to someone personally that left due to frustration because of that fight.) All the same, I still plan to do those fights solo for the challenge of it and so I can say I did it the "right" way. I'm not one to cut corners when it comes to stuff like this. Besides, I figure it's a good way to assess how well you're playing your job. I figure it's a decent learning exercise.
