    Vagary Issues

    I have two or three major issues with vagary at the moment, the first issue, is that once you defeat the megaboss of a zone (we did the elemental zone last night), you don't get any kind of time extension. What happened was that we were low on time, just barely got the boss down, and only had 60 seconds left to try and distribute loot, which with half the group dead, wasn't possible. All those expensive upgrade items went to the floor. The group leader was dead, so we couldn't even quartermaster things and distribute them afterwards. Second thing, the Records of Eminence for vagary bosses isn't completed for the people who are dead when a megaboss is killed. That's not fair at all. I died while weakened, burning my 2hrs trying to get the boss down, and then the boss died to one more WS or so after I died, so I didn't get credit for RoE, and therefore didn't get a free upgrade item, being forced to either repeat the fight another time to get it done, or just buy an expensive upgrade item if I want to get an upgrade item in the meantime. Maybe make it so that when you beat the final boss of the zone, you get a small time extension, enough time to distribute loot, like in delve, or skirmish (after you pop the reward chest key thing).

    Third problem, is that it requires so many people for most people to complete any zone. They fixed Delve so you could complete it with a group of 6-7 without a full alliance. I don't know how some people are low manning it, but getting 18 people together to beat a zone, then everyone getting rewarded with just a few memories and a few people getting lucky with boss drops. it seems unfair, and really annoying. I'd like more people to be able to low man stuff, to get more rewards. If you can 6-7 man it, you get rewarded with more memories per person, making it easier to upgrade gear and take less time to set up groups (it's a huge time sink at the moment, getting 18 people together, just to barely beat the zone, but then everyone gets ripped off at the end by getting nothing when you run out of time at the end despite beating the boss).

    Depends on the zone I guess but we are able to clear zones with few people. The leech zone we have cleared with 5 (geo x2 sch blm thf) and the ele zone we cleared with 6 (geo x2 sch blm thf pld). We are able to do perfedein and plouton with 4 real players playing 7 accounts (geox2 blm sch thf pld cor). The fomor zone is a bit nasty (translation not mage friendly) but we really hate it so we haven't tried very hard to low man that. We never ever bring more than 12 in on any of our runs. I would imagine with 18 competent players all of those zones are jokes.

    The reason why we decided to continue the content timer upon defeating the boss is because unlike other content, the regular monsters inside of Vagary drop useful items and these monsters will still remain after the boss has been defeated.

    In the event that we decided to extend the time by 5 minutes after the boss is defeated, this will take away any remaining time and give players a hard 5 minute extension. Due to this, we would like to carefully consider which option is better.

    You mean Etched Memories? How many Etched Memories could you possibly get in only 5 minutes?

    Could you just make the regular monsters despawn?

    The current system is really unfair.

    If another 5 minutes for beating that zones boss is such a big deal then why do we get another 15 minutes for beating the leg/body bosses?

    While I agree that you should get credit regardless of if you are dead or not, the rest of the current system is fine. Every zone has been beaten in 25 minutes or less. You just need to work on your strategy and/or your alliance members' competence more. And all zones have been beat with just two parties, not a full alliance, with plenty of time to spare.

    so you can do leg and body and mega boss of the zone.

    edit: though after you beat the mega boss no more mobs will spawn. so what will probably happen is the 5 minute hard timer that Grekumah mentioned. Which would kind of be a shame. After beating leg, body, and zone mega boss yesterday in elemental zone, we had like 20 minutes left and so we went and cleared out all the elementals that we skipped to farm memories.

    Is it possible to pop the legs and body NMs after defeating the megaboss? Maybe that would be possible in the elemental zone but I don't see that happening in the other two zones.

    Off topic but in future update are you planning to lower the cost of merits that is require for doing a AA fight? If i remember correctly Camate said something about it being 5 merits awhile back and I think it's been 4 month now that AA is still 15 merits while others are 10 merits.

    So just warp us in tempory zone for 5 minutes like legion when time is over to avoid item loose.
