I contend that this is in serious need of reconsideration. I'd buy that if each job had the same amount of choices per catagory, but the fact that some jobs have 4, while others have 8, and they both have the exact same limitations, negates any sort of real equality. Take Ninja for example. If I want to enhance my character by being able to use San Ninjutsu, I have to spend 6 out of my 10 points, just to unlock them all. Then I have to choose which ones to 'enhance' to still be sub-par, or forego having a mix and only level 2 of them. By contrast, DRG has 4 merit abilities, which means half of them can get 3 points, the other half get 2, so they all end up being usable. Suggestion: make the cap change based on the number of abilities that one has to choose from, say a cap of 2.5 for each ability. Then your 4 merit jobs still get a limit of 10, those with 6 get a new limit of 15, and those with 8 get a limit of 20. Everyone then has the same ratio of abilities to merit points, so we can all be happy.
