Can I please get some assistance with my controller

The version of DirectX the game is coded for doesn't support XInput that the Xbox controller driver uses. They'd have to recode the game for a newer version of DirectX, and that's a big investment. There's plenty of controllers on the market that do DirectInput as well as XInput, and plenty of software solutions that work system-side. SE doesn't have to add support for one peripheral in the sea of peripherals.

It's really not that hard for them to create an official version for ffxi. If people can do it for free, a multibillion dollar company that charges subscriptions should have no problem coming up with something.

And it's not one peripheral in a sea of peripherals. It's very likely that there are more 360/ps controllers in existence than all other PC specific game pads combined. Not only that but the need for these people to find a PC game pad has been specifically created by SE themselves.

Hi,I'm having trouble with the link for the FFXI download,instructions on link say click the "FFXISETUP" file to launch the seekers edition installation,I did that and came up open file or save file,opening file said windows couldn't lauch it and saving file didn't seem to do anything either even tho I can see it in my folders.So the installation set up won't even start so then I cant even accept the user agreement either.there are 3 more files called "data001" "data002" "data003" under the "FFXISETUP" file too but instructions doesn't mention those,do I have to save all four files first? Or am I missing something,any help be appreciated,this is my first laptop and first game and only got so I can carry on with ffxi next year after 360 stops service.

Hello,yeah I tried just the FFXISETUP file at first but it wouldn't launch so then I saved FFXISETUP file along with the 3 data files and then tried and still windows wouldn't open it.can see the 4 files in my folders but can't do anything with them,done as instructions say on that link too.says windows can't open file and it needs to know what programme you want to use to open it.
