    Save the Consules!

All I own is an old xbox 360, and I'm sure others are in the same position. How many people are you asking to invest 100s of dollars to continue playing? Money that people don't have (like me).

I understand what you mean, but as said in another thread the Xbox 360 will reach the respectable age of 10 at the end of this year and Microsoft themselves have also said that they're planning to stop supporting the console somewhere next year.
Sony ended support for the Playstation 2 a couple of years ago, and it can really be called a small miracle that Square-Enix until this day is still running and supporting this game on that platform.

That said, you still have the larger part of a year to either prepare for a final good bye or to start putting aside a couple of bucks every month and look for a PC or laptop.
This game is 14 years old and can pretty much run on a toaster or refrigerator these days, finding a cheap second hand laptop capable of running this game should not be a problem.
Seriously, if you start saving as little as 15 dollars per month right now you should be able to get one by january/february next year.

The game client can be downloaded from Square-Enix themselves and the credentials you use to get into the game from your console also work on the PC.
So you don't have to buy any installation disks either.

Everyone should own a decent PC if you're gaming anyway, there are plenty of games out there that run much better on PC, Bethesda games being a prime example since they're always so buggy you have to make use of the console to fix yourself!

Of course if you just need a PC for FFXI you really don't need anything spectacular, look at this for instance: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FAST-DELL-...item20f385666c

Not a spectacular PC by any means but will run FFXI effortlessly and only £88.

here is an even lower priced comp that will run ffxi and its a laptop (149.15USD)

and here is every thing you would need to play ffxi on a desktop (180.00USD)

and just so you know these both beat the requirements for ffxi

Find a cheap PC and switch now. You'll experience less freezes and blackouts and other console exclusive problems.

I only wish that ending console support meant better updates on the PC. sadly that isn't happening.
