Can't get the game to start from new install...HELP

Ok I built my new machine have windows 7 pro running, bought and downloaded new full game from SE and all worked fine. At the time I was using my old WD Blue HD.

Yesterday I cloned my WD Blue to a new WD Black, the game didn't work. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. When I hit the POL shortcut, the blue POL screen came up as usual but then it pop'd up an empty white box off to the side and at the top all it says Ver1.18.00n.

Since I couldn't find my Nov '14 download I had bought, I like a fool bought it again and downloaded new from SE site. When I hit the POL shortcut, the blue POL screen came up as usual but then it pop'd up a White box and at the top it says Ver1.18.00n.

in 7 or 8 years I have downloaded and installed this game numerous times, never a problem with vista and in Nov with a new stall of 7Pro.

Unloaded and reloaded again...same thing, tried again, same thing.

Saw on SE that Window 7 has a problem with POL, downloaded the software they said to use, same problem. Unloaded and tried a couple times.

Cleared all out of directory after I uninstalled each time, tried using stand alone pol with the download portion of the game, tried pol and game from same download..I'm lost now.

Finally got it to work, download new set of files from another spot on SE, seems the white screen which never did anything is the screen which turns bluish and says you got to update POL. Must not have been able to connect to SE last night .........all night. Started this at 8pm...went to bed at 3:00am

Works perfectly now.
