It all depends on what stuff is still useful nowadays, Alchemists can still make gil off hexed coif -1 and hexed gages -1 definitely.
Yes, because I love the idea of sinking millions of gil into an item that probably won't sell. Would make so much more money taking my opportunity cost somewhere more reliable like salvage or dynamis. Even if I was willing to take the risk the materials are never on auction house anyway, and certainly not in the numbers that would let me spam the synth in hopes of getting a high quality.
