Hello SE,
Are there any plans to release any profitable synths for Woodworking and the other crafts? I really need to make gil with my chosen craft.
Hello SE,
Are there any plans to release any profitable synths for Woodworking and the other crafts? I really need to make gil with my chosen craft.
i think about the only way woodworking would have a profitable synth is if there was some furniture that could be made that gave some awesome moglification benefit. kind of like what we are getting with the cheers from mog gardens (bonuses to melee skills, magic skills, capacity point acquisition increase, etc)
They could add a [SU] crossbow for thf as well as add more craftable bolts and arrows. What really makes profits is when people have to buy things they use lots of like food, ammo, and medicines. The problem is the materials need to be easy enough to obtain so the prices will be reasonable. A bad example of this would be Abrasion Bolts which requires belladonna sap. Of course there are lots of other reasons that contributes to why no one buys Abrasion bolts. Anyway to make arrows/bolts/bullets/shurikens profitable the materials needed to make them would need to be abundant and cost less than how much gil you could make buy buying delve items and selling them with the same about of plasm. Otherwise people will just keep buying ammo with plasm.
Of course Alchemy is my main craft and I wouldn't mine some new medicines. Maybe things like more powerful tp wings. Revitalizers, or other medicines that you currently can only get through temporary items.
Well for alchemy you're pretty much banking on Hexed Gear-1, considering ethereal squama is like 1m each you've just gotta get it right really, even if you farm the squama it's still at a 1m cost to you (opportunity cost, look it up!). It all depends on what stuff is still useful nowadays, Alchemists can still make gil off hexed coif -1 and hexed gages -1 definitely.
Yes, because I love the idea of sinking millions of gil into an item that probably won't sell. Would make so much more money taking my opportunity cost somewhere more reliable like salvage or dynamis. Even if I was willing to take the risk the materials are never on auction house anyway, and certainly not in the numbers that would let me spam the synth in hopes of getting a high quality.
Got a random tell tonight while in Dynamis of someone asking me to synth Hexed Gages -1, some hexed stuff still sells. As for lack of materials, sure that's true but at the same time Verthandi is 75 content, no reason you can't solo farm squama if you real want to. Consumables on alchemy are hardly a way to make money, remedies you might make a bit of gil but the rest sell extremely cheap, sure if you keep listing meds each day it'll add up but that sounds very grating.
My concern was more with belladonna sap, I know it's not the most expensive, but there is never any on the auction house when I look. May be different on yours, but I would have to somehow get it from Morta. That's not something I could farm solo. As for meds, since skirmish drops philosopher stones like crazy, the price of Panacea has gone down enough to where people actually buy it, but not so low that you can't make a decent profit off it.
Also depends on the "mood of the job usage" ingame too. ATM Nin is not the big-bad-ass tank job it used to be like when Abyssea came out, so Ninja Tools have dived in sales and with that, so have profits. Goldsmithing (I think SE loves goldsmithers), is always there for profiteering, for for every one possible synth we get for other crafts, Goldsmithing usually gets 8 new ones, one for each element. (Rare exception being elemental staves, but gold STILL also got 8 different synths same time.) So if the "mood of job usage" changes again and makes other use-and-consume jobs more wanted (Rng/Sam/Cor with arrow/bolt/bullet, or Nin with tools, for examples) then maybe we'll get some viable gil-making crafting done. That can happen or when next round or so of new crafting items get sent out, make them NOT for Goldsmithing, but for those of us with less used/looked-for crafts (i.e. Woodworking, Bonecraft, Leather).
Hint: you CAN make rings out of wood you know, NOT just metals![]()
