    No, I am well aware of the fact that an iLvl weapon adjusts your defensive stats. I realize I forgot to mention that my base guard skill is 315, with oats it is 557. The chat log read as 59. This is definitely an error. It happened on another mule as well, however that read as guard skill hit 7 when the base skill is near 400... I only use them in salvage so I cannot say that this is game wide or only in AR2 and BR2.
