Error Code POL-0008, Salvage, AND YOU!

I don't know what's going on, but it's not my internet. I need to know why this "Instant D/C" is happening only when we are in zones like Salvage! With all the time and work put into collecting assault points to use to purchase permits and finally enter your zone of choice just to get disconnected in a matter of moments???? WHAT??? Give me a break!

    First of all:

    1) Why is there a three (3) minute time limit to enter back into the zone? Dynamis doesn't even have that! Get rid of this nuisance immediately!

    2) And while we are on the topic of nuisance, why is this even happening to begin with and only with Salvage?........Just got an update, this happens with Limbus too!
    Why isn't this resolved?

I don't want to hear that Instant servers may have been overload BS or it's your ISP because I already confirm that it wasn't. This doesn't happen with Dynamis (and if it did, you still are in the zone when reconnecting), doesn't happen with Walk of Echoes, doesn't happen with Delve....need I say more?

Bottom line, Instant d/c bs, get rid of the 3 minute dezone crap, and for THE SAKE OF THE VANA'DIEL, FIX THIS MATTER EXPEDITIOUSLY!!!

    Kindly,

    An Angry Elvaan!

So how do you know it's not your internet? Just because everything else is working, there may be some kind of issue with communications between your ISP and FFXI. Also I can't help but laugh at the whole "With all the time and work put into collecting assault points to use to purchase permits", you can complete assaults in a couple minutes that give you enough for 3 permits, that's not time or work.

But the one thing I can agree with is the 3min limit on Salvage.

Don't get me wrong Tidis. Yes, its easy to gather points and all, but its about principle. But that's neither here or there. By biggest beef is with this whole 3 min limit. It's ridiculous.

    Yeah,
It's either your ISP or your router. Try this:
On the computer you play FFXI and also on a separate computer, type this into a shell window and leave it open:
    ping -t cnn.com

You can choose whatever url you like. When your disconnects happen, check and see what happens to both pings, then report back to us.

Thanks for the tip Malthar. I tried doing it but having d/c yet. Then again, I did Salvage these past couple of days in the morning. I will try at night when the issues take place and post it then....if it happens that is.

Apparently it's a instance and that consumes server resources. It's like Limbus,BCNMS and Assaults, where another group could be waiting to enter it while you're using it. There's a limited number of "slots" for people to enter them. If I am not mistaken it's one, two or four slots depending on the contents type.

I would be really pissed if I had to wait full time for timeout reset on a empty instanced zone. The world does not spin around you, sir.

What you should really do is investigate why you're getting disconnected. It could be your ISP or your router. Or even your PC.

Have that solved and then you should be fine.

    Good gaming for you.

Haven't seen any d/cs, but observed with a friend that tells and linkshell chat show up much later in salvage. In one case, a tell sent by someone outside salvage showed up to the person inside over 8 minutes later. My guess is whatever hardware/software is managing the instance has a severe bottleneck somewhere, it could result in a bad handoff d/cing you as you zone in.
