That announcement really doesn't explain anything though. It isn't acknowledging the mass numbers of people who were wrongly deactivated, and getting various errors. This is not the normal occurrence, there are scattered issues but not to this large of a degree, and to people who been using the same credit card without issues for years and never had any payment problems.

I always try to give SE the benefit of the doubt, but I hope at bare minimum on Monday there is an announcement that this was an error and the steps outlined to fix it. I hope the steps aren't call SE or spam update on their credit card for days, because on normal months the period after maintenance is a huge issue in updating cards. If that is the answer though at least let us know so we can do the steps, and give a small acknowledgement/apology for error. I don't think that is too much to ask, its basic customer service.
