Expansion packs are important to a game like this, they aid in player retention. In more modern titles expansions are a negative because it means a loss of players due to a large chunk not wanting to buy them, which is why most do downloadable expansions. FFXI has a dedicated playerbase who are well accustomed to buying them, it makes more sense and more profits to make them than not for this kind of game.

Keep in mind that FFXI is still the most profitable FF title they ever made, it was incredibly cheap to develop and is a major source of easy to maintain profit.
You can keep dreaming if you want to, I'm not going to place any bets. Making another expansion means that they also have to make physical copies of the game for PS2/XBox 360. The game makes them money the less effort they have to put into it. But whatever, Believe what you want to, there's no proof to point in either direction.

You're putting a lot of effort into arguing against something that would benefit you.

Everything you said applied just the same to SoA, as such they are meaningless negative nancy arguments.
