Abyssea End game shells and my thoughts and oppions about them

OK, unsuprisingly, I came into this thread to see someone complaining about not getting stuff, or only the leaders getting stuff. Well I can assure you, most LS are not like that.

First, virtually all groups have some kind of probationary period to ensure that they find people who are reliable and aren't going to just bolt the instant they get something they want. But once that's out of the way, most groups are very fair about who gets what, usually using a simple @ system. I was only in my LS for a week or two and got a drop off our first Rani kill. Everyone who has a job to use something and put in the effort to help has a chance at the goods.

The majority of linkshells are run by reasonable people. So please, don't join an LS for a week or so, not get XYZ item, and say all engame linkshells are bad and have greedy leaders who get all the stuff while the rest don't get anything. It's a horribly inaccurate stereotype.

"Abyssea LS" are not endgame ls. They're a bunch of shout-tier retards who jumped on the "Abyssea is Easy" bandwagon and manage to throw entire alliance

This really isn't completely true. Yeah, there are some like that. But stop throwing out radical generalizations that every group that does abyssea is like that.

The saying about getting what you pay for is applicable here. If you just hook onto the first LS you see and they take you without asking questions, then you shouldn't be expecting much. On the other hand, if you have to apply to join the group, or you at least get asked detailed questions and have the oppertunity to ask them yourself and get honest answers, then you can expect more.

2) That's not a real linkshell. That's a bunch of whiny brats who probably all suck at FFXI if they actually give a shit about those weapons that the NMs drop. They sound like the kind of tards who complain about Abyssea being too easy, all while being unable to actually finish basic Abyssea gear.

3) Out of courtesy, I don't lot shit I can't equip anyways. If you want to scorn courtesy and lot shit early I really don't care, it doesn't even bother me. Random people will probably get upset at you for it though. It's probably because I only do shit with friends anyways, but we never have that sort of issue. I'll pass Nin shit to people with 75Nin because I don't give a shit about Ninja.

4) For clarification to point #2, "Abyssea LS" are not endgame ls. They're a bunch of shout-tier retards who jumped on the "Abyssea is Easy" bandwagon and manage to throw entire alliances at things that most competent players can kill solo. Because of their endless ability to throw bodies at things, they'll generally actually complete some armor pieces and, occasionally, Empyrean Weapons and thus conclude that Abyssea is Super Easy. These people are worse than shout-tier shells if only because they actually think that they're good at FFXI because they kill Orthrus with 18 people with only 12 deaths. In reality, they probably only have 1-2 good members in the leadership, followed by 15-20+ absolute garbage bodies to throw at things.

If you're going to join up with trash, don't complain about the smell. It's par for the course for them.

I've yet to meet a half competent shell that calls itself an Abyssea ls. There are Endgame shells that do Abyssea, but those aren't the same thing. FFXI Endgame has been out for a long time. Most all of the smart, competent people have a place in some pre-established shell by now. The only people really left without shells and forming new ones are people who were too suck to make it in a real shell beforehand.

The exceptions to this are generally people who do things with people they already know anyways. Rather, I should say, there isn't anyone with half a brain still recruiting random people any more. In context, the generalization is valid.

Okay..so to start off...i figured"why the hell not? try out some of the abyssea stuff...maybe i had the wrong idea?" boy....was i fucking wrong....

i decided to join an abyssea end game LS...it seemed nice at first....UNTIL it got to the point of getting some of the rare drops...players in this LS were and i shit you not"at each other's throats with their lotting" if one got a higher lot the other would all yell at them for it and act like a little immature brats who just saw the other kid grab the last cookie off the tray and started to bawl and whine.

this...i could deal with...to a point...as i had no interest in lotting any of the items because i didn't need them. then came the bulshit.....i have been leveling my war for some time now and aim to take it to 90 soon so when i saw this one rare axe drop i lotted on it...i got the highest lot..woot right?........right? WRONG! no sooner i got the highest lot THE ENTIRE LS(minus the leader who i know and a 2 others) WERE SCREAMING TO HAVE ME BOOTED FROM THE LS. yelling and complaining and throwing every single insult they could muster at me. they even went as petty as to attack my puppet master's hand-to-hand skill which was under-skilled at that time. but the LS leader thankfully said"freelot is freelot" now here's the straw that broke the Camel's back for me...today...i'm in abyssea attow chasim..or however you spell it. we were killing the moth MB for the zone and a epic pair of hand-to-hand weapons drop. and i ask as nicely as i could ever ask"May i please have those? i need them. my weapon sucks!" well apprently these people in end game LS shells don't comprehend the idea of "being nice" is a "good thing" THE ENTIRE LS(minus the same few mentioned earlier)LOTTED ON IT leaving me without a single chance. i ask again before it finally drops"come guys...i need this weapon...mine sucks! please can i have it?" and you know what they said?"freelot is freelot!" i'm sitting here thinking...."no way in fuck....they blow a gasket on me the other day for lotting an axe...but change their tune when it comes to something they will never use and i need?" well the LS leader planned on killing it a few more times..so i figured"okay..no need to get pissy...it'll drop again...i'm sure of it..." well it dropped again alright and once again THE ENTIRE LS LOTTED ON IT and fed me the same line. finally it clicked with me...they were holding a fucking grudge against me for that axe the other day. when it finally clicked i was like"no way in fuck?! they can't be serious?!" apparently anyone who won the lot tossed the weapon so they could lot on it again to make sure i couldn't get it. apparently the ENTIRE LS was in on this with the except of the few i mentioned earlier. after three more times of it dropping and the LS poking jokes at me for not winning the lot and other BS i finally said"fuck it!" dropped the party,tossed the pearl, and used a scroll to warp out. if this is how end game LS run in FFXI....I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!

Hey can you add any more vulgarity ? Oh by the way i have an endgame abyysea shell you want in. You cant lot on drops till you get all jobs to 90 and then only if you lot 900+ 5 times in a row. Want in?

This is outrageous! there were never bad Linkshells, Shady Linkshell Leaders, Greedy members, Whiny newbs before Abyssea! Abyssea ruins E'erthang.

Also, On a slightly more serious note! You may want to consider trying some Magian h2h weapons The STR ones are really good. Or you could try your hands at a good Savate fists if you ever did Dominion ops!

Lol, if this is directed at me, you're a bit off the mark. I'm not mad for personal reasons. I've had the same ls for years, one of the more successful NA shells on my server at that. If there's anger in my post it's mainly because I associate "Abyssea ls" with a lot of posters on here.

Don't join a ls with points for abyssea..

go kill stuff with 3~5 other friends and you should have no problems.

A well balanced party can kill anything in abyssea while farming time.

hate points.. hate q.qing over points.. better to just take turns working on gear for a small group imo

Lotting on something you can't equip (yet) is greedy, plain and simple. Even worse if you just joined the ls.
