That's because you're already done with more obtainable long term goal relic......relics are a lot more reasonable to obtain than mythics.

That doesn't mean this game is mythic lv of goals only, it's just that you're done with it.

Is it really outrageous? The reward is obviously awesome: A best-in-slot weapon for your favorite job that is guaranteed to remain relevant for the life of the game. And you're not willing to put months of work into that? We're not talking years, even you described the process as 4-6 months a few posts earlier. It's not impossible or even improbable for someone like you.

I do consider it outrageous, yes.

Over the last two years I've worked on my Mythic in my spare time when I had no events and was able to get on and just do it. The first year was pre-Adoulin when about the only thing I could do was Assaults dualboxing with my GF when she was able to log in and even then I often needed friends. Also at that time I was often trying for Nyzul gear for a friend's character who I've been taking through assaults with us as well which slowed and hindered my progress. In the end, year one got me basically nothing done except Ichor from an EG LS I was in at the time who did Ein II on a weekly basis.

Once Adoulin came out I started doing Salvage and my speed in Assault got quite a bit better so I could solo most thanks to the damage even if I had to triplebox, I didn't need NNI anymore but didn't do Ein II anymore so ups and downs, and that's about everything I could do at the start of the year. I worked on it in my spare time but with constant attempts at Delve, Skirmish, and so on, as well as working on three different characters at once for gear due to being the jobless one of my little trio I simply didn't get much done that amounted to anything and often times simply forgot it. It felt like working on it in my spare time wasn't getting me anywhere.

About two months ago my time freed up, I looked at my character and determined I had basically everything outside of my Murgleis, Mandau, perfect augments, and a few pieces from fights no one actually does like the Ouryu body. As a result I devoted the last two months of my time to working on my Mythic, I hit captain around the same time I started this thankfully so it was just a matter of doing assaults. Looking at my spreadsheet I have 79% of my Assaults done, 35.71% of my Tokens, 55.72% of my Ichor, and 78.40% of my Alexandrite. I've worked on this two years, over the last two months I've focused almost exclusively on it, even after my Assaults which will take me another three weeks I'll need tokens which will take at least another week or two I'm sure. That's not counting Ichor which if I do T3 to competition every day would take me around a month I think. Then you have the Alex which would take me a couple of weeks unless I burn through it by doing triple Dyna & Salvage. Einherjar and Assaults alone would take about a hour, daily Dynamis and Salvage would take another 3 hours, so to finish this I'd have to spend about a month of my life spending 4 hours a day working on this sword and nothing else. I'm 74.80% done with my Mythic, 62.2% if you count the things I said above, Assaults are the most forced time taking generally and I have almost all of that done thankfully but still, it's going to take me more than a month even with how much I have done already, no.

Honestly, I play this game to have fun, enjoy it. The reason I'm not playin right now, I have no reason to. My friends have all basically left and what content there is to do isn't fun, it's boring. I'm trying to make my sword, it's the last goal I want to finish in this game honestly because making my Mythic did hold some meaning to me once, but after the last two months of trying to just finish it up so I could be done with it, I don't care anymore, it's not worth the work.

Considering you've bothered to math out your progress, I find it more outrageous that you've used those two years that badly. I'm confused why you wouldn't at the very least start on assaults early into the progress, rather than obtain captain just two months ago. You may as well be saying you started on your mythic 5 years ago tbh, as it sounds like you've only made any meaningful progress within the past 2ish months.

If it no longer feels like it's worth the work for you, than that's your prerogative. But what work is needed for it amounts to a few hours a day for a couple of months and a pile of gil. If your "work" on it was focused, you'd be done. Not trying to poke fun at Rdm, but maybe if Murg wasn't so underwhelming of a Mythic, you'd feel differently, idk.
