Here are some ideas i have come up with for some possibly interesting things for the game.

    Expansions to the mog house:
My idea for this is kinda similar to the Mog Locker idea, in that you pay a nominal fee in Gil for access to the additonal spaces, with them being closed off (doors shut) when the "Rent" is due.

To gain access to a new room in the mog house, you first need to have it built. This can be done in 2 ways. One is to gather the required materials yourself and trade them to the moogle, who then will start the building (for a fee), after which the room will open up and be useable for placement of furniture and whatnot. The second method would be to pay gil to the moogle and he will buy the required materials and start construction.

Using this setup, one could add perhaps 2-3 additional rooms on the ground floor and perhaps a second floor with 3 more rooms.

This idea would allow all us Grand greedaloxes to display al the furniture we have gathered up from various events and quests without needing to worry as much about space.

Another thing related to Mog houses would be perhaps weapon and/or shield racks for various weapons we gather on our adventures. This would work like the Mannequins in that the weapons displayed would be the ones "Equiped" to the rack.

    Equipment:
My idea for equipment is in regards to pieces that have decent or usefull stats, but are of too low a level to be truly useable in Adoulin or endgame content. What I have in mind would be perhaps a vendor/craftsman, similar in idea to the AF reforging NPCs, who can push the basic stats of your under 99 level equipment up to 99+ levels by adding stat bonuses similar to the ones found on Sparks gear. This would of course take materials and would have some kind of cost, perhaps in Bayld or some other form of currency, and would only increase the stat boosting properties of the piece to compare to what your char would have at lvl 100-119.

The innitial reforging would push the item's basic level up to 99, increassing its defence or attack, with the subsequent reforgings adding the stat boosts to STR, VIT, etc. to the piece as well as any appropriate increases in defence/attack.

This arrangement would allow players to continue to utilize the equipment that they spent time and effort to obtain in yesteryear, onwards into the future and could also perhaps be used to improve the newer equipment as well.

    Appearances:
This idea is something of an addon to the existing character appearance setup whereas one can alter the existing look of ones character by changing the coloring of the hair and perhaps the style of the hair, as well as adding features like tatoos, scars or makeup.

For this I would add something like a cosmetecist NPC to various places, where one can get a "Makeover" for a fee in gil or something. In there you can choose from various hair colorings or streaks, hair styles, makeup and tatoos and/or scars.

Though tatoos and scars are more permanent changes, changing hair styles and coloring, as well as adding makeup, can be easily accomplished in the real world, so would conceivably be as easily accomplished in the fantasy world of Vana'Diel through use of haircuts, dyes and such items and can paint colors on ones skin.

Allowing for changes in appearance of a superficial sort would let players, new and old, make their characters more unique and personalised and, in my oppinion, would allow for a richer play experience.

I like these ideas. I'd love to be able to put some ilevel stats on my toci's harness - sure it was never the best bit of gear to have, but I love the way it looks and it sucks that it's good for nothing now. Even if I could make it as good as 117 sparks gear I'd be happy.

Cosmetic changes to your character hair and face would strain the engine on some platforms. Every piece of head armor has a separate DAT for each face and hair color for each race and gender that can equip it. It's not something overlaid like in FFXIV's engine, it's a completely separate 3D model that they have to make and animate for every action you can take (dances, weaponskills, running, etc). The limit on facial variety we have was to make the game fit in the RAM of the consoles it runs on. Every character wearing equipment around you is another set of DATs loaded into memory at once. They would have to overhaul the engine on PC to cope, and make the new engine PC-only, and doing that would be like remaking the game all over again (which FFXIV was young enough to justify, but not this game with its population levels).

Remember how few options you have during character creation, which means that everything is prerendered. FFXIV has many sliders and color options because it isn't prerendered. Going from prerendered to rendered-on-the-fly is a very expensive and major change.

If there's one thing I'd like above all else in the mog house, it's the ability to target a bed or a chair and "sit down". Moving anywhere after sitting down would get you up automatically.
