    Character Display Issues

Hello, this is my first time posting here so I hope I'm doing it right lol

I recently installed FFXI on my laptop and when I log on, all characters including mine, NPCs, and monsters appear all weird. I've never had this problem before on my other computer. I tried restalling FFXI and it didn't seem to help.

    Here is what I'm experiencing:

I'm computer-retarded but I'll do my best to provide any info I can, let me know if I forget anything or get something wrong.

I use Windows Vista, my graphics card is "Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family", I think? And I use DSL to connect to the internet.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Edit: Fixing a few sentences that sounded weird

    Mehi,

We apologize for the problems you are experiencing. These problems are caused by the “Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset” that your laptop uses for graphics processing. Unfortunately FINAL FANTASY XI does not support integrated graphics chips, as they were not designed with computer gaming in mind.

First, definitely cannot fault Nadeu for his response - if the card is not officially supported, then its not supported.

That said, I have a laptop that runs with an Intel 965 as well and my game runs fine. Here are some things you can try to see if you can get yours to work:

    1) Run through Intel's troubleshooting guide: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-010486.htm

    2) Make sure you're running the latest version of DirectX: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...a-9b6652cd92a3

    3) Update your graphics drivers to the latest version: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/
