Are geodes/avatar-ites ever going to be useful again?

Other than the odd niche item like a stun-staff or SMN elemental staves, the magian trial weapons requiring geodes and -ites have no use anymore. They still drop quite frequently from area mobs, but with nothing to use them on, I would imagine people just throw them out. I send them all to a mule in case they are useful again someday, but I guess I'm wondering if that day will ever come.

Can the dev team comment on this?

Guess I'm the only one that wants to see something done with these? I was thinking along the lines of how Plutons/boulders/beitetsu were used to forge JSE weapons, maybe these could be used to build some special gear in the same mold. I know lots of useless stuff still drops from mobs in the world, but I think these have potential to be used in a better way than they are right now.

If not, maybe I'll have to take up goldsmithing :/

Maybe they could be used as a material for Empyrean armor reforging? (Certain jobs would be aligned with an element; Maybe SMN would be wind, BLU could be water, etc.)

Of course RoE trials... seriously though should do something about the rate they drop if you are going to keep them useless completely RoE trials for them often means activating one then waiting till that same element of day comes around again to finish it before starting the next one. And can't keep them all up because well there isn't enough space just for that and keeping crystals up is much more useful

I'd love to be able to upgrade my ToM weapons to ilvls. Not that it would be ideal, but they could require more geodes/-ites to improve the elemental stat line of weapons.

yeah they should just let us update ToM weapons. Seriously even if it was just to ilevel 109, there are some of them which would be useful (hallo, "pet: physical damage taken" axes, I've missed you....)

They mentioned fixing the evolith system - awhile back (lol) - maybe they could be used in that. Honestly even if I can't upgrade old gear to ilevel it would be cool if there was a better/wider augment system that could give some little boosts to older stuff.

It seems that there are a good amount of people in all regions asking for revamps to the Evolith system. Currently, this is somewhat low on the priority scale with everything else that is being developed. However, we are planning on a larger scale for Evolith, so instead of just adjustments we thinking more along the lines of a total renewal.

With that said, the Development Team doesn’t want to rush anything so that the system is user friendly and something that can be employed for the long term. Hang in there and we will be sure to update you all once we hear some information down the line.
