They have a typo in the date too. They say it begins Tuesday July 10th. I'm assuming they mean Thursday July 10.

Star Sybil Trust. Woooooot!
What I don't like is that it's going to be a meh Cypher instead of a nice cutscene that required rank 10 in Windy.![]()

I don't mind geting cyphers for npcs we only see in CS, but the ones where you can actually get to there should be a CS for getting their trust. Lehko would be a cypher only for those who finished past windy story line due to what happens to him at the end.
So, they've fixed the broken link then?
Good day, Demonjustin!
I understand your concern with the number of alter egos obtainable through in-game events and cutscenes vs. the number obtainable by ciphers. While I am not at liberty to discuss the decision making process within the dev team, I can say that you are not done seeing cutscenes!
Have heart, for there are more fun events yet to come!

Why are 200-point items on the list in French? O.o
The list, which is identical to one from a previous login campaign, was accidentally partially copied over from the French file instead of the English one. I've already reported the issue to the Web team, so hopefully we can get that cleared up soon.

Over the last year the English site has had lots of typos and weird mistakes like this. What's up with that?
Good day, Puck!
Thank for you your feedback!
It's never acceptable for mistakes of any sort to appear in game-related text, websites, or other official avenues of communication, so I understand, both as a gamer and a person, where your consternation comes from.
In way of explanation (not as an excuse), though the workload of the localization team has increased greatly since the implementation of monthly updates, our staff remains the same. Everyone who works on FFXI--programmers, artists, sound designers, planners, marketing, the web team, QA...everyone--has pulled double-time over the past year to bring you fresh content. As the localization team, we must ultimately prioritize in-game text to preserve the fidelity of the Vana'diel experience for all our English-speaking players, whether they are forumgoers or not.
I agree with you that we need to pick up the slack regarding web text in particular, and we will continue to refine our processes to make sure that the entire package is one that we all can be proud of. In the meantime, please continue to call us out on our mistakes!
If you'd like to continue to have this dialogue (or any other dialogue, whether about in-game topics, web content, or just chewing the fat) with me, please feel free to create a thread in the Localization sub forum! Let's keep this topic about the Login Campaign, as the creator intended.
While I appreciate what you're saying I don't think you understood the exact nature of my complaint. I know more with CSs are to come, but I'm sure those with Cyphers already implemented aren't among them. My problem is that NPCs like Aldo, Lion, Naja, or Lehko, NPCs that are important to the story of entire expansions and subsets of quests that are being given to us in paper scrolls rather than through CSs like the others. It feels as though these NPCs are being treated unfairly by compare to others like Prishe or Ulmia who are given such things.
