Thread: Game crashes 8.1

I just got a laptop with Windows 8.1. The game worked fine earlier when I first got the laptop and continued to work thereafter. However after I had updated my computer, which happened to be a lot of files, I went to launch the game and can get as far as the last play button you have to hit before the game launches. Then it crashes loading the game.

I've tried restarting my computer, setting the compatibly mode to Vista, that's the OS I was running on my last computer. I had checked direct play when I first started before I had updated my OS. I still have it checked but it still crashed.

It just happened a few seconds ago. 5-26-14 10:11 PM Central time.

It happens all the time.

Using my computer, PC.

My OS is Windows 8.1

It's a Lenovo computer

My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GT755M GDDR5 2GB

I do realize going back using system restore may help but I'd like to use that as a last resort.



For anyone interested I was able to fix this by launching the game in windowed mode.
