Let's reorganize titles.

My current title is "Hurkan Birdlimeist" after beating Hurkan this morning. I did not choose this title; it was simply thrust upon me.

Suppose I want a different title, such as "Ya Done Good" from the Kazham quest "You Call That a Knife?", just because I like the title. I have to go all the way to Kazham (granted not a terrible trip now that we have home point warps) and speak with Mhebi Juhbily. Also, I had to look that NPC up. Then I lose that title as soon as I complete some quest or kill some pissant little NM who automatically revokes my title.

Let's get rid of this silly system where titles are constantly overwritten and scattered about across a dozen NPCs. A few ideas:

1) Make the list of titles uniform across all NPCs. Then make every title the same price, and just put it in one big list. Or make sub lists, like "Notorious Monster", "Quest", "Mission" and "Other".
2) Have the title granted only the first time you defeat an NM/clear a quest/whatever.
3) Let us just change titles ourselves through the menus instead of involving NPCs.

I just hate the current system and I hate having cool, fun titles overwritten by silly stuff like "Hellsbane" or "Kaggen Cloberer" and such.

I agree with 1 and 2 or they can simply put in a title lock feature.

Without going at length into how much I agree, I will mention the topic: Mog Garden and Abyssea Titles, which certainly isn't about those titles only.

The writings over there may be somewhat incoherent, <cough>, but there are similar messages to be found, such as: have a title granted only once automagically, and possibly make it easier to change/browse titles.

In mog garden-related titles especially, I would appreciate to be informed about them when they're conferred upon me. It would make it easier to confirm after how many interactions it happens (which of course would become impossible if the titles were only granted once, so there's a (very) minor downside there to a wikki-editor at least).

I like to see a new title as soon as i get get, but yeah, the ones from NMs should only drop to you the first time.
