No character models with intel HD4000 GPU

Details:
There is a known issue around the net that intel HD 4000 without an old driver will not work. I have 2 labtops with intel HD4000 the drivers cannot be downgraded. I am unable to play ffxi. It would be nice if switchable graphics worked with ffxi or if the client was updated to something newer then the directx 8 windows 95 horror show it is.

Steps:

Login to ffxi using a computer with up to date intel hd4000 drive. No character or npc models will be shown.
