[Suggestion] Give new purpose to currencies (Bayld and Cruor)

Currently Bayld and Cruor have very little purpose in-game, players are amassing big quantities of them without anything valuable to be spent upon.
This also affects the frequency at which content is done, because low value of the currency you get from content X > low motivation to do content X.

I propose SE offers a new selection of items to be obtainable through these currencies from a new NPC, and I think this will benefit the game and the players in the following ways:
    1. It would offer additional ways to obtain otherwise rare to obtain items
    2. It would be more consistent and streamlined with recently added currencies (Delve, Skirmish etc)
    3. It would offer additional motivation to complete the game contents where you can obtain such currencies. For instance this would do a great good into driving people doing Assignments and Reives again, but also Voidwatch. More people doing Voidwatch > more items on the market > it becomes easier and cheaper to complete Empyreal weapons and Reforged Relic Armor

I feel the last point is very important, if not for the Empyreal weapons, at least for the reforged relic armours which are recent content and, currently, are still very expensive.
Aside from the fact that you can buy delve materials with Mweya Plasm (but they're very expensive) if you were to buy the necessary materials to upgrade a Reforged Relic Armor, it would cost you around ~5 millions gil for each piece.
    5m x 5 pieces = 25m for a full set for a single job.
And that's not even taking into account the Rem tales farming or the gil spent for the 109 upgrades.
Last but not least, many of these pieces aren't even "insanely powerful" but just very nice often very situational (macroswap) pieces.

If you are afraid some people with large amounts of currencies could manipulate the market in a negative way and gain advantage from this, simply put a weekly cap which reset with every conquest, and allow people to spend only a certain amount of currency, or buy only a certain amount of items, every week.

This way achieving those goals (completing Reforged Armours or Weapons etc) would still take time and dedication, thanks to the other requirements (rem tales, nq pieces) and to the artificial walls (weekly cap), but at the same time the process would be more enjoyable and seamless, and you could see little progress being made every week, bringing us to a higher personal satisfaction and motivation for players of all kinds (casuals and hardcores, who often have multiple jobs they care about)

    Thanks for your attention.

Oh, after the AF and AF2 business, I'm certain they have considered AF3 reforging. You can expect those new 109/119 armors to require cruor spending in the millions. It's just that it ain't happening soon because AF3 is so good that AF/AF2 will already be obsolete so you gotta have that release schedule difference and everything. I would not be surprised to learn AF3 reforging was completed or near complete and waiting for a future release.

Empy armors aren't guaranteed to vastly outperform reforged relic and AF armor. We don't know exactly how big a boost they will give empy armor from lv 80-90 to 109/119. Besides, many AF/relic pieces have stats for different purposes than empy gear has.

I doubt Empyrean would be overpowered at all, so far what have they done in the upgrades? Slapped ilevel spam on each piece, thrown special stats on those which were without them or had underwhelming stats, and upgraded the potency for some stats. What would they do with Empyrean? The same, ilevel spam, some upgraded stats, about it. I doubt we would see anything so overpowered that it crushed the competiton enough to outdate the sets or anything even close to that level of power unless they shared the exact same uses, such as the Relic & Empyrean WAR Legs or something along those lines.

I'm not really sure what's going to happen with Empy armor.
Just because we saw a certain increase quantifiable as "X" for Reforged AF and Relic, doesn't necessarily mean the same will happen for Empy, it could be X-1 for instance.

Currently reforged AF and Relic serve mainly as two purposes, well, not all pieces, some of them do tho:
    1) Fulltime (stuff that you can fulltime, during TP, idle and maybe some other specific use too)
    2) Specific use only (during WS, during certain spells, precast, certain JAs and other specific situations)

If Empy will see the same increase X, then it's true that a large part of Reforged AF/Relic will lose their usefullness at least for 1) and in some situations even for 2) (WS, for instance).
This doesn't mean that Reforged AF/Relic will completely lose usefulness, but it will surely make a lot of them less appealing than they are today.

I don't think this has anything to do with my suggestion on the first post though. Whichever way they choose to go, I still think SE should find another purpose to Bayld and Cruor to make it useful AND to take the chance of making old content somewhat relevant again (i.e. driving more people into doing it) through the appeal-level of the new uses gained by the related currency.

It certainly has more purpose than Cruor for instance, and it's no surprise since it's a "new" currency.
But I still feel it doesn't have nearly as much relevance as it should/could, or as when SoA was released.
It's not my intention to prove you wrong or anything, but may I ask what do you spend your bayld on? Maybe I just missed an important but different perspective from someone who plays in a different way than me, I'm curious (no sarcasm, I swear).
Judging from my experience and my lsmates, we all have billions of Bayld and we never seem to run out of it because:
    • The basic gear you can buy with bayld ain't too great anymore, and it's not like it's a "consumable" anyway.
    • The cost for WKR has been greatly reduced since the beginning. And unless you go on an "unlucky" job or arrive too late, you usually receive more Bayld from the kill than the one you spent to access it (also, none of us do WKR anymore and haven't been for quite some time)
    • There is some bayld you can spend on the concoctions, but nobody uses them
    • Bayld is used for the Skirmish augmentations and for the Mezzotinting augmentations, but it's very small amounts

Basically from what I saw, differently from the first months of SoA, people find themselves with more Bayld than they can spend and usually they gathered Bayld as a side-effect of doing other things. Take me for instance, I have over 2 millions Bayld and I never even farmed for it, it just "happened" as I was doing other things (I did farm a lot when WKRs were expensive of course, but that's another story)
There is no drive into doing Assignments anymore once you get max rank, since tipically there are better ways to get XP as well.
I was thinking that if SE were to offer additional ways to spend Bayld (whatever they come up with) it might revitalize Reives and especially Assignments, since more people would be doing those to farm Bayld.

The reason Bayld had so much use when Adoulin first came out is because most of the Balyd purchasable gear was better than what we currently had and Wildskeeper Reive KI`s cost 50k-100k (don't remember exactly). Since then they have reduced to cost of the KI to 25k, which if you do a full WKR you`ll get back, plus extra. And Bayld gear is now outdated so not many people really buy it anymore.

Having said that I agree that we need more things to spend our Bayld on, I just cant think of anything atm.

As for Cruor yes, that`s pretty much wasted now since they killed blinkers, maybe adding Heavy Metal plates, riftcinder/dross as purchasable items from Cruor NPC`s would give cruor it's purpose back again.

I`m surprised you didn't mention Resistance Credits though, outside of buying AF3 base items what use do they currently have? I suppose you could at least buy augmented weapons with it and NPC but that's pretty much it.

There are daily WKR kills on Asura all the time, where you been hiding? Just last week there was a large group of people cycling through the areas for wins. Just because you haven't done any WKR for awhile doesn't mean nobody does them anymore.

I did some of those runs this weekend, though, would really like it if someone did drifts EVER. I haven't seen 1 drifts shout since I got access to the spawn point.
