New player- Can't play with friends until May due to server merges?!

Not to mention, that not ALL worlds are going thru a merge, as far as i know there is only 16 worlds that are merging to make 8 servers

OP: You are screwed, sadly. As is my cousin in the same position (and no, creating a character all alone on a completely incorrect server to pay to play for an indefinite period is *not* a solution).

This is pretty lame, I don't understand why it has to wait till the next update to be done.

Thats 16 servers, with thousands of players on each, that cannot have anyone they know buy the game and come join them.... till an unspecified time in May.

Its not about all worlds, its about 1 specifc one. Its about the one with my rl friends on it, which I bought the game, 2 weeks ago, to come play with.
