    So can simple DOS commands, but that's just grasping for straws.

    It's an actual programming language (C++ was probably mentioned just because it's generic). What the OP essentially wants is for macros to have conditional control and he, probably unknowingly, is basically trying to write a computer program.

    I'm a junior in computer science right now (by no means an expert), and looking back to some 7 years ago I can see that FFXI macros were sort of my first introduction to programming. It's hardly the same thing, but macros do at least open up the concept in your mind. It's one example where FFXI has actually seemed to have a positive impact on my life.

    tl;dr If you're good at/enjoy making macros, start playing with some actual programming languages.

    To make the longer macros like that, you need to use third party tools to allow scripting--but that violates the TOS.

    Wish they could give us 10 lines in the macros--would just about negate the need for many to use such tools, but then again it might lead to some exploits somehow so they won't do it...round and round it goes with the debate... meh.

    I really don't see the problem with giving us additional lines. I'd love for them to do that, because I'm a perfectionist and I hate having to ghetto-rig things across multiple macros and whatnot.

    1 macro with 15 lines = 3 macros with 5 lines. Not gonna break anything.

    I think the only way a problem could arise is if they allowed more control over the commands, but I doubt that will happen.

    yeah.. it's always a hot issue when it comes to how much automation they give us.

    Years ago, I had a bank for skilling up Summoning Magic where I just moved through the bank continuosly looping the cast/releases. After a few passes, I had the timing down to where I didn't even need to look at the screen and just listened to the audio and ran them while watching TV. I would got accused of bottting because everything seemed timed out in a near perfect pattern.

    What troubled me more than getting a GM called on me was the fact that some idget felt the need to report me for botting when I was just skilling up my magic--not exactly a game breaking issue. There's always someone in the crowd that will cry wolf for shits and giggles I guess...

    Hence why this option has never been available in macros.
    Not really. I know that I have some equipment macro's that take several sets of macros to accomplish. Prime example is for the macros which completely redress me after I'm stripped and raped by Lamia.

    I got GM called on me for same thing a week before shutdown. Was skilling up blue magic so had macros set for /ma "Pollen" <me> <wait5> repeat. & it seemed seemless for about an hour until I was warped outta whitegate ; ;

    Funny thing is I play on an Xbox & as soon as the GM asked me to run the macro I was let free and told sorry. I too was looking for a way to loop my macro's to prevent me having to count to 5 and restart em lol. then LS mate said that would be an in game bot & I now understand why they do not have it.

    Good idea but will never happen. I do not even know if they will give us more slots, but who knows they changed the /wait so they are at least thinking about our macros
