Happy 10 year anniversary PS2 launch players

Not sure how many still play from the PS2 launch, but yesterday March 23, 2014 made 10 years since the official PS2 launch day. I've could've sworn it's been longer, but meh wth. Anyways how many of you still play from back then and what keeps you playing?

For me it would have to be my stubborn unwillingness to part with my main. Too much digital blood, sweat, tears went into him and in a sense I feel as though he is me. How about you guys?

You're off a bit on that date. PS2 launch was the game launch, it didn't come out on PC for almost 6 months after. PS2 service went online May 16th, 2002, which is why the Vanaversary is that time every year. NA release was just delayed because SCEA didn't want to release the hardware in that region. I started on PS2 in July of 2002.

Actually, the OP is correct if an additional description is added to the statement.

March 23, 2004 is indeed the launch date for the NORTH AMERICAN PS2 version of FFXI. Yes, the initial game launch in Japan was on PS2, and that was May 16, 2002. But that was only the Japanese version. The Japanese also got the PC version before the North American launch of the game (on PC) in October, 2003, although it was sometime later than the May 2002 launch on PS2 in Japan.

Sorry I left out a bit of info and yes I meant the North American release. I did however think it was a year sooner as i could have sworn I got it the year I started my current job, but meh I was wrong. I'm just gratetful Gamestop (or whatever the store was back then) held on to for me for a extra day or two.

There's only one date left that's more important- the date at which official support for the ps2 version is terminated.
