Personally, I see it as nothing more than a frivolous sort of thing. With all the weapons floating around now, and their upgrades, plus now trying to balance them, I really wouldn't want to see the dev team focusing on another set of weapons.

I'll pass on Beat Cesti +2. Also, people need to stop messing around with fake Dev Tags or altering existing Dev Tags. The Dev team made them for a reason. Everyone, and I mean Everyone on these forums thinks their idea is the best thing since sliced bread (see: "Best new ideas" thread). If anyone could use Dev tags, every thread would have them. It's disruptive, and it's horribly improper.
I will have my revenge!
I think besides finishing off your relic/mythic/empyrean they should add the Ultima series for 99. Having it start as the AF base would be fine by me, but I'd love to have those big crystalline looking Ultima weapons.
I think it would be a neat addition to upgrade the AF1 weapons. However, they should be given utility stats (similar to the stats on AF1/AF2 armor), not stats for DD. Ex: +TH on thief weapon, +shadowbind duration on rng bow (or widescan range?), +jig duration on dnc weapon. They could essentially be macro gear for job abilities.
They could like... give them dynamis drops and make +1 versions of them to benefit the job in some way
