They can either waste resources to reprogram a quest (which they would then have people saying do that for all the quests) or they could just tell you to not be stupid and throw out your own item if you want to keep it. From their point of view saying there was some kind of lag is just an excuse. I mean that's the whole reason why there is an extra confirmation on rare gear. From their standpoint they gave you everything necessary to keep your gear and throwing it out is completely your fault. But just in case they can look into it and sometimes return items.

No wonder the game is run by a skeleton crew if this is the extent of the expectations we have of them. Why should they even try at all if we, as customers, set the bar so monumentally low? Everything we could possibly ask of them is too much time and effort. It's no wonder they use it as an excuse so often. It seems many of us buy it lock stock and barrel.
