    Go fix yourself SE - Can't log into main character

    Thread Title: Get disconnected from the server during the login to the game. (stole from the example since it was written perfectly for this.) Fix you SE, fix you......

    Details:
    Ever since I experienced a game crash on Feb. 21st, 2014 at around 6:30 CST, I am unable to log in to FINAL FANTASY XI on 1 of 2 characters on my account. Every time I try to log in, I receive a “FFXI-3001 No response from server.” error about 3 minutes after I make an attempt. I have tried resetting my cable modem and router but that didn’t help. I have even tried reinstalling every bloody thing. Only work around is changing to full screen,forcing a d/c due to loss of full screen. and then reattempting the log in.

    Steps:

    Experienced a game crash while playing FINAL FANTASY XI.
    Attempted to log back in immediately after the game crash by restarting the game.
    Received the following error about 3 minutes after I attempted to log in.

    Connection timed out.
    Press OK to shut down.

    Gave 3 tries but the result was the same.
    After restarting both cable modem and router, made another attempt to log back in to the game but the result was the same.Everything works fine but your stuff. Stop F'ing me in the B SE.

    Frequency: can't respond to this really.....guess "always" because there hasn't been a fix for it though its only been going on for 5ish hours

    now for the sob story "sob as in cry;not sob as in son of a ...........which is what I've been saying all morning."


    I tried logging into my main character this morning and continuously got error 3001 after it hung at the "downloading data" screen. I then attempted to log into my secondary character and got in without any issues. I waited for a few minutes and then attempted logging into my main character again. It still refused to log in and threw out the same error. I shut POL down, restarted my laptop, and connected straight to my modem. I then tried logging in again. My secondary was able to log in just fine but my main account still hung at the downloading data screen. I contacted a GM hoping they might know something about any issue like this affecting the game. I got the whole "go to tech support through our website" message instead of a live GM which is to be expected on this. I searched online but didn't find a solution to the problem. Has anyone else experienced this issue and know of a fix?

    Edit 1: idk if it was luck or what but I finally got my main character in. Forced a D/C by clicking on YouTube (2 screens and running the game full screen on my main,browser on the other) played a video (unrelated) and tried logging into the secondary character.I logged out of secondary and tried the main again.I was able to log main in. zoned him into Sauromugue Chmpn. and then logged out. Logged back in with no problem. Zoned back into port jeuno and got error 3001 again. attempted to log in main and forced another d/c (error from loss of full screen) and attempted it again. got into the game again and warped to port windurst. Zoned into the mog house and logged out. I then logged back in and proceeded to zone port windurst->Whitegate->Nyzul Isle Staging point with no issues. So either port jeuno was purchased by Google and loves YouTube/requires Google+ or port jeuno just really hates me.

    Edit 2: I got disconnected while doing salvage and now cant log in even with the above trick (worked after the 3rd try). So now I've wasted my salvage attempt for the day and cant log in/stay in.Take lessons from kanye west on how to jump on your own jock and shove it deep SE. I'm currently paying you for a puzzle I have to solve since your tech support is crap. I apologize to any players that are offended by my post. I'm showing about as much love to SE as they are showing me

    Edit 3: After finally getting someone from tech support and not a stupid message (after 4ish hours) I'm still at square 1. All I got was "uninstall your firewalls/antivirus and try that." I've contacted my ISP who said there were no issues on the connection. Still never got an answer as to why only 1 character on this account was affected while the other one is perfectly fine. Needless to say none of the suggestions fixed the issue. I don't know what to do beyond this point. I guess I can't be too angry since SE only charges me 15$ a month to ignore any issues I have. <3 you SE. Maybe later when you're done boning me you can take my 15$ and me out to dinner. I'm really easy, the dollar menu will work. Just the gesture to show you actually care is all I need. Oh yeah, and for you to fix your stuff would be nice too. Btw- I was going to edit to tow the line as far as your policies go but when I checked to see what wasn't allowed I got "Error.An unexpected error has occurred.Please wait a few minutes and try accessing the page again."

    edit 4: So who does the item restoration? Because I asked a GM and he said the tech team, I send a request to the tech team and they say GMs. So who the **** actually does this service? You have two teams pointing the finger saying they do and no one who does. SE, do you even know what it is you even do? no sarcasm, in all seriousness, do you know what you do? Because at this point I have no idea other than to be awesome finger pointers. Which lets face it, if thats your job kudos since you have perfected the art and made money from it. Probably wouldnt be so p****d if I was bounced around like a basketball........i know, i know, it sounded better in my head.
