Instead of getting a experience penalty for partying with party can we get a Bonus?

Title says it all, how come when we party with our trust we have no experience penalty, but when we party with real life people we get a penalty doesn't make sense for an MMO to be so against partying with real life people could they do adjustments to the party system?

It doesn't make sense for an MMO, yet over half the MMOs out there give reduced EXP for party play - then a small experience multiplier on top for playing with a party... (which still isn't as much as playing solo)!

No doubt the dev team will argue "But... EXP chains"...

What the heck are you talking about? You get much more XP when partying in a group than you do solo. That's why people build parties.

Zarchery, that was true once upon a time, but it's not true these days. 6 Well geared people trying to farm up 20 merits for an AA fight will do much better splitting up into 6xMnk soloing with Trust rather than grouping up and going anywhere.

I don't buy it. I teamed up with 3 other people to do XP and it came much faster than what I got solo because we had faster kills. The "penalty" you perceive from teaming up is people splitting up a resource (XP) because they are killing faster than a group solo. You're asking for the best of both worlds--the speed of kills a team brings and the XP being solo brings. That's just not fair.

"Faster kills"? Were you soloing with trusts?
For exping, trusts are just about as good as real players, and don't take your exp.

For the above scenario though, if you're just grinding merits it is better to do lowman Voidwatches, it's fast exp with a chance at some money items.

They could at least lower the exp penalty, or nullify it.
An extremely large portion of the game is endgame where, outside of merits, experience is worthless. We should be encouraging people to group up.
Currently, many players refuse to group up because it is better to be solo in most cases.

Trusts are actually not as good as real players. Even on RUN, none of the DD Trusts get higher than half the damage output that I have. However, you can have three of them, so in total the kill speed compared to exp gain will be higher than having even as few as one other real player with you.

While I agree that exp sharing like in FFXI makes sense and is fine as a game mechanic, the implementation of trust changes the entire dynamic of the game. There are now no game-mechanical reasons to team up with anyone you see around you for exp purposes. The game directly encourages playing alone over playing in groups for the first 75 (at least) levels, and that is pretty dumb in a multiplayer online game. To remedy this, they could either make trust NPCs affect exp like human players do, or make human players affect exp the same way as trust NPCs do. I am pretty sure that no one wants trust NPCs to steal exp, so that only leaves us with one possible solution, and that is to not split exp among human players either. At least when it comes to non-abyssea EXP.

    Greetings,

As I am sure many of you are aware, the amount of experience points earned while in a party is modified not only by the number of players but also due to the level differences between party members and other factors. Due to this it's difficult for us to completely remove this aspect. With that said though, we will be looking into making adjustments to the amount experience points are modified.
