POL Email Spam

I have been getting 20-30 emails a day on my POL account that is all spam. I have never used this email account. How can I stop this from happening? there are no spam filters on the email support and there isn't a way for me to tag the senders as spam or trash or report it. I have been an FFXI customer since the release to NA many years ago and the past month or so have just started to get these emails. This is after I sent in a help request directly to SE about an in game issue I had then all of a sudden I am getting spam email. Makes me think that SE isn't in control of our personal data linked to this game.

Anyway does anyone know how to stop this from continuing?

@pol.com email addresses seem to get tons of spam. I'm getting over 100 JP spam messages every day, and it's been gradually worsening since about 6 years ago. All spammers have to do is know a domain that works for email, then they can just burst out messages to random users. If the server is stupidly configured to return invalid address bouncebacks, they know which addresses are invalid, and can move on, taking notes on which addresses don't fail. I doubt SE is using MXtoolbox and blacklists to filter out spam email, and I don't think they have mail sent to invalid addresses set to blackhole either.
