/shout /yell: Allow only translated words + numbers and punctuations

    Hi,

I know this idea is like impossible and not really good, but all i wanted to show is, its boring to spend hours looking at "only JP" /shout and /yell

Most (not all fortunately) of Japaneses players "intentionally" do not use the translator function only because they don't want play with EU/NA people.

I don't see why this game should be like this, if we are forced to have internationals servers, it's sad

Most (or even all) NA/EU players /shout /yell accept people from any region, and I think that is a good thing, but most of Japan players do not want anything beside JP players in their party, and i think this mentality should have to change.

If they don't want to change then why SE don't create a "Only JP" server?
If that is all they want, why not?

    What do you think?

Even with auto-translate you could still do:

    { Japanese } { Yes Please! } { English } { No Thanks }

People will always find a way, even if SE adds limits.

If you really want to party with JP groups, try learning some Japanese perhaps.

I know some players who tried this, most of the time they detect you when you are not a true native Japanese, and they take this as an offence

    There is a guide: http://wipe.guildwork.com/forum/thre...ish-guide-ffxi

Very bad idea. The auto-translate database doesn't have enough words.

Since English is commonly taught to some degree in Japanese schools, most Japanese players typically have a grasp on enough English to function in a party. This can not be said about most English speaking players in inverse.

Not all foreign players are like this. Some have no problem playing with NA players. Some want to play on easier stuff but not more complicated stuff. People like to ascribe these sinister motives to foreign players who don't want to play with them, but most likely it's just the language barrier. Trying to communicate battle strategies and plans for an event through the autotranslator is cumbersome. A guy in my linkshell stopped inviting Japanese players to Delve runs because they couldn't follow the battle plan due to communication difficulties.

Sometimes people just don't want to play with you. So what? And if you can't deal with seeing a bunch of squiggly lines on your chat log, that's your problem.

Lastly, server populations are declining and making group efforts harder to organize. The last thing you want to do with that is cut it down further by segregating based on nationality.

This is how I read the situation:

Boy: "Mom, Jimmy next door won't play with me, can you make him play with me?"
Mom: "No, how about ignore him and just find yourself new friends to play with instead?"

And what it should be if the story is more like this?:

Boy: "Mom, Jimmy next door won't play with me, because i don't have the same skin color"

Same thing applies, ignore them and move on. You cannot control other ppl's thought/believe/desire/wants/etc. Asking SE to make a way to forced others to play with you isn't the way to go.
