So... it seems like the RF2 sets will be coming here in feb, and with them they set the pattern for the empy RF3: 109 base, 119 +1.

But with the RF2, and I know this was mentioned by the devs that they were gonna do this with Sorcerer's Tonban... or maybe they were gonna look into doing it.... idr, I can't find that post again.

But the thing is, most of the AF2 lost stuff when it got +2'd. The reason being, from that dev post mentioned above, "those stats were not relevant at the time"... which for most, is understandable... but there are some that are just randomly cut IMO.

But before I soapbox anymore, here's what was cut: (it's only general, I might come back and give specific values later.)

WAR - +enmity
MNK - HHP; guard skill
WHM - resist silence
BLM - enfeebling magic skill; +5% elemental magic by day; conserve MP
RDM - evasion skill
THF - steal bonus
PLD - healing magic skill; spell interrupt down
DRK - resist paralyze; enfeebling magic skill; +accuracy
BST - parrying skill; HHP
BRD - evasion and parrying skill
RNG - parrying skill
SMN - avatar: +enmity (I had totes forgotten about this!)
NIN - the "nighttime only" gimmick
DRG - parrying skill; wyvern: HHP
SAM - +enmity
BLU - -enmity
COR - -enmity
PUP - subtle blow; attack bonus
DNC - NONE
SCH - NONE

As you can see, two of these jobs didn't lose anything... and one only lost the gimmick of "nighttime only" so... no real loss.
But some of these lost really useful, powerful, relevant effects.
And while some things "lost" were changed to something better, (ala drg wyvern: HHP >>> wyvern: +10%HP) I am shocked that I forgot just how much BLM stuff got cut.

So the reason why I'm pointing this out now is because of the iLv system.
Currently, there is very little difference between the 109 and 119 RF1 sets... and chances are, the RF2 sets will follow suit... with the only major change is the base statline and iLv bloat defenses...
Which means the main differences between the three 109/119 RF sets... will be JA augments that the gear possesses.... which is why I hope they really bring back some or all of these lost abilities from the AF2 and AF2+1 version of this gear.

Because at the end of the day, I don't want three sets of virtually identical gear where the only difference is marginal stats and the model used. I'd like to actually have to think about which piece of gear I would want to use for my gear set up... and with iLvs.... that really seems to boil down to the different JA augments the gear has.(just look at the two "light armor" 115 pants, you don't judge their relevance by the statline, you judge it by the ability mods)

EX: whm RF1 has 10% cure pot and -4% sure cast, while RF2 has +8% cure pot and -10% cure cast... this is what it looks like it will all boil down to this type of evaluation...
So bringing back these lost stats theoretically should make the RF2 more different than the RF1...
Cause given the current paradigm... the difference between RF1 and RF2 in terms of haste, statline, and basic iLv bloat defenses... should be either 0 or 1-2.

Though if you bring back the "only nighttime" BS....
