Records of Eminence + Long NM Respawn Times = Yuck

So Dosetsu Tree... if you've never heard of it don't feel bad because I've been playing this game since NA release spent hundreds of hours in that zone and hadn't even heard of it till now... because apparently it's pop conditions are amongst the worst in the game. Basically the same as Kreutzet... except with a much longer timer and less frequent weather.

SE really needs to rethink it's spawn mechanics in general but more specifically why the hell is it even on a quest

Edit: ok... it seems like the respawn time has been cutdown but still only weather and will depop

Yah about the edit, thats a good thing at least... I mentioned on another forum I used to hunt NMs back in the day, even the more useless ones (I had Shadow Mask, Ascalon, Bano Del Sol, Sand Gloves amongst others, for funsies), and Dosetsu Tree is probably the most elusive f**k I've ever seen. I've only seen it once since it was released and this was back when Qufim was a hot exp spot and I always checked for him when I was there and thunder weather popped.

Its funny cause his drop, while a decent GK, isn't even that good.

oh, and part of me wants to believe his repop was probably never 21-24 hours, its just his conditions were so bad and nobody cared enough to camp him its what the determination was made. Then again, he was added in the CoP era...

Too bad the Aht Urghan trio of Cerberus, Hydra, and Khimaira aren't poppable nms like the initial kings w/ pops dropping from the level 75 ISNMs and those nms having a low chance of dropping an item you can use to enter their respective AU King rooms and spawn those hnms right away...just a thought I had while adventuring through Arrapago Reef

Though I do agree with this thread, I just wanted to say that I just yesterday nearly finished the NM hunting records of eminence. I've killed every NM on the list except Bloodsucker. Dunno how I'm gonna get him though. There are constantly small XP groups down in Oubliette, so he's not gonna stay undefeated for long. Maybe I can camp him after the next maintenance.

I can't get baist done since there is no real afk ToD getting for that. And even alot of the others took awhile or I just got lucky because well not everyone can rearrange there life schedule to fit 24 hour pop nms

So I've finished all of these except Bloodsucker. I've actually completed 242 unique Records of Eminence. That's every one except Subjugation: Bloodsucker.

I probably got really lucky to have done them all in what, 2 weeks? Contrary to what I expected, Morbolger, Simurgh, Roc, King Arthro, Dosetsu Tree, and Argus were a lot easier than I expected. Carnero (sheep in South Gustaberg) gave me a lot more trouble than I expected. Probably spent a total of 6 hours camping him over the course of a few nights. Biast was tough but not too terrible. I think I camped him for 3 hours, got bored and went to run errands for 2 hours, then came back and camped for another 2 hours and got him then.

But Bloodsucker... ugh. Identical name to the leeches that spawn in the area. 72 hour respawn after last time of death, but it's impossible to know what that is. There's always someone down there killing leeches for XP. They're not just gonna leave Bloodsucker alone. I'm forced to conclude that I'll have to wait until 21 hours after next maintenance to get him.

Unless... I can assume he was killed 21 hours after last maintenance, then every 72 hours after that, until most recent time of death, and try to figure out an approximate window based on that. When did the servers come back after the most recent maintenance?

Though it's probably smarter to just wait until next maintenance. When is that scheduled? Two weeks from tomorrow?

It's just gonna drive me so nuts that I'm so close to 100% completion on this but that leech just mocks me.

Got any jobs you want to level or get some merits? Think your best bet would be to join the party down there and hope it pops while doing pages.

No but I don't think that would help really. Because Bloodsucker isn't a lottery spawn and it can pop at any point in time there's no guarantee that it wouldn't happen during a time I'm inevitably not there. It wouldn't really help any more than me just keeping Sneak up and wandering around on my own.

Looking back at the "Maintenance" subforum, it appears last maintenance ended at 1:30 PM EST on the 22nd. Assuming he was killed 21 hours after that, first TOD was 10:30 AM on the 23rd and subsequent deaths happened around then too on the 26th, 29th, and February 1st and maybe tomorrow morning is the next best chance with another opportunity on Friday and next Monday.

If I remember right it's 21-24 hours. And then it has to be found and killed which makes keeping track of ToDs that you don't show up to each time pretty hard. But yeah getting a bunch of 21-24 hour guys easily is luck. Possibly no one on your server caring too
