I am confused as well, it sounds Trust related, but not sure in what way, it has had no mention before that I can recall.
I think it means that stuff that should've affected Trust NPCs that didn't (like Blood Pacts) will work now, but I haven't tried it yet to find out.
Faith is the JP name for Trust. It was a translation error that they used the wrong name in the notes.
The way I see it, there's more than one error in the 'faith' word there.
It seems more referring to 'face' (フェイス, feisu), and was thought of as 'faith' instead in this single occasion for some reason.
I could be very wrong, and faith certainly would make more sense in a way, but it does seem as if 'feisu' is more generally used for 'face' (especially since it's written in katakana).
Just some quick, sleepy thoughts. :d
...or so the legend says.
ス is commonly used to represent a TH at the end of a word, since Japanese doesn't have a TH sound at all, and all syllables except N must end with a vowel. Aerith's Japanese name ended with ス. Consensus from the usual JP translators on BlueGartr is that it's "faith"
Yer.
I simply find face magic more fun, while faith is more than likely correct.
I would not use Aeris's name as an example, however, but I digress! ^^
...or so the legend says.
Aerith is a good example. Her name was only Aeris in the NA release of FF7 and Tactics. The JP materiels spell it in Roman letters with a TH, and all English content afterwards has been consistent with that spelling. The early PS1 games were translated by the JP department, not localized by an American branch. There were tons of spelling and grammar errors in those releases.
