First off I'd like to say I love the trust system. This is what I wish adventuring fellows had been.
That said there are a few things that need tweaking, things that have been a problem since adventuring fellows.
Tanks: enmity generation. As with adventuring fellows the tanks just can't hold hate. They open with provoke/sentinel/flash. But that's all they do. And they lose hate so fast, Naji went into yellow I cured him back to full and I had hate... The tank npc's need an enmity boost or they are just gimpy DD's.
Healers: resting. Again something that has been a problem with adventuring fellows. When the Mage runs out of mp all it can do is starlight a little bit back. Can you not maybe code them so that when they run out of mp it will slowly begin to recover back to full and they won't cast spells until it's full again or something? Once they run out of mp they are rendered practically useless and then you have to wait around after the fight for them to recover it.
DD's: not really a problem here, I just wish the free trial
would last til we get some black Mage and other ranged DD's! Shame I don't actually play this anymore and just came back for the free campaign I'd love to see this system develop... bring back XI and XIV discount! ( ._.)/ these games are in a great place for it where both games have casual solo friendly content for one of them to be your chilled out one!
Now onto some of the non job specific problems.
Only engaging when you do. Can't these NPC's have avatar style AI so they protect you? Or at least bst pet AI so they protect themselves!
Interaction with pets. Avatars don't buff/heal these guys! Why not?! They are party members, your AoE's effect them, each others AoE's effect them, why not pets?! It's a pointless limitation and it just makes this system less enjoyable for SMN's (and probably PUP? I don't play it.)
I love this system and would really like to see it develop right, that's why I bring up these issues now, before things "get too jumbled in code to be changed". What do you all think? Any other things you'd like to see tweaked about these NPC's?
