    The inventory system

Is there any danger of SE ever improving the god-awful inventory system on this game?

If I spent half as much time playing the game as I do gearing up for jobs or searching for a random item in my inventory, I'd enjoy this game so much more.

I played FFXI shortly after launch for several years, returning a couple of years back expecting to see huge improvements across the whole game. While there were definitely big changes, fundamental things that should have been improved years ago still remain untouched. I know a new UI is in place on the test server (though it doesn't look to be more than a different colour scheme, really) but is it too much to ask that SE fix the biggest problem this game has and save their subscribers hours of wasted time looking for things by introducing a better invent system? - preferably one which organises sets of armour, separates weapons and items, can be sorted by job etc...

No joke SE, FFXI has the worst inventory system I've seen in 26 years of gaming and I have absolutely no idea why you haven't fixed it yet. It makes no sense to me.

I agree with part of what you had to say. Using the inventory system is easy.. and if you have to much gear maybe you should look into specializing as one thing?

People on other forums, like bluegartr or ffxiah, could probably share inventory management tips with you if you ask.

Trouble is, you need more than one job these days because certain events are only done by certain jobs, you'll never get a spot unless you have the right ones.

I don't have any problems with the current inventory system, just scroll down to the boots section for the boots you want etc. Works fine.

Quite honestly there is a hundred things SE need to do to fix the game, changing the inventory system would be so far down the bottom of my priority list, somewhere around Automatons customisable clothing etc. Theres a lot of really big problems with ffxi 2013, in the core game mechanics, largely due to the rush to make people lvl 99 and have lvl 115+ gear in a world where 99% of mobs are still based on the lvl75 era damage-spectrum. 99% of Vanadiel is a ghostland, 99% of gear and events are obsolete. SoA has scorched-earth policy on everything, and I think changing inventory layout will not help ffxi now. Just my imho.
I know how auto-sort works, but it doesn't help much when you have 5 different storage compartments and a load of slips you have to search for items in, it's a ridiculous system. It'd be better if they just made the mog sack 500 slots and did away with all the rest of the compartments. That'd help.
