Does double synthesis skill up event apply to fishing?

Does the double synthesis skill up rate event apply to fishing as well? Skilling up fishing is literally hell on Vana'diel, and I have decided NEVER to cast another line until it's fixed. And .0001% skill up rate doubled is .0002%, so testing it myself is impractical.

Rage and exaggeration aside, developers, can you let us know? Those two-hour windows are truly not enough time to even test enough to know if it's doubled, because getting 0.2 skill in an hour as opposed to 0.1 in an hour could easily just be random chance.

And for anyone who's wondering, yes, I'm fishing at all the "good skill-up" hotspots for my fishing level.

My guess is that if they meant for fishing+synergy to be included in this, they would have said craft skills instead of synthesis skills.

    Greetings,

The Special FINAL FANTASY XI Eleventh Anniversary Campaign's double synthesis skill increase applies to fishing as well. We appreciate your feedback as depending on the popularity, we would like to host more of these types of events. So please continue to let us know your thoughts and suggestions!

This event should have better time windows. Living in the east, the time for bonus is somewhere when I work or when I sleep...

If it bleeds, I can kill it.
    If it doesn't bleeds...
I can probably kill it too.

The multiple seal drop system should be permanent IMO. I really can't see myself farming Sacred Kindred seals without this, because the rewards are not super appealing anyway (the new AF are not really needed, plus the very difficult battle don't even drop a case of RME-upgrade item 100% of the time, they don't seem to drop boxes either).

The Abyssea part of the campaign should be permanent too, if there is any hope of getting new players, surly that is at the heart of helping ease them into the game a bit.

    €°(((><

It seems slightly odd to think this sort of events not to be popular.

Without going too much into details in this thread that is about the rate of fishing skill advancement, the only thing I might have qualms with, is the fact that I want to do pretty much everything the Anniversary Campaign affects (except for Skirmish and Mog Gardens, which I have no access to at this time), yet, there's so little time. The crafting skill up increases being during certain hours especially adds to the woe. I would agree with the others saying the seals/crests should be able to be found at a higher rate outside such normal circumstances just as well as the Abyssea 'perks' would likely do only good, although they have little to no effect on me, personally.

I don't see why crafting, especially fishing (which is still greatly abused by third-party software users I believe), should still be such an ordeal as it is. It's obvious that there is a lot less for craftsmen and women to craft due to the changes to the game in the recent past, which also affects the process of taking their levels up. Luckily, some materials to be used for said activity still exist in NPC stores, but pretty much anything coming from the player base (auction house) is in a terrible state.
I think I remember some further adjustments to fishing being planned upon, but I'm not sure if, at the current rate, I'll ever make it to the level 100 (only at 45, mostly because it takes so much time away from everything else). As was pointed out, double skill gain rates for fishing are likely to go very much unnoticed (I wonder if even making that twenty times higher would prove noticeable).

Salvage II plans. Yeah, I still want those. The regular rates they can be obtained at always seemed odd to me, as the rewards are supposedly balanced towards 3 characters (at minimum). I guess that never made sense with Salvage now that I think about it. It's probably no surprise when I write that I would hope said plans to be dropped at a higher rate normally as well. I'd say at least at this so called “double” rate.

Battlefields. Those would be nice to do, if I didn't need all seals, crests, and siegels I can muster for the artifact armour upgrades...

In short... too much to do; so little time. I realise this isn't exactly feedback for future events. I guess it would be if we'd have this kind of stuff every other week, so it wouldn't be permanent, but kind of!
