The point being having it only apply to one hit makes the stat kinda meh in the small amounts thf af gives. Though should still be potentially good on the single hits like MS or RS. Shame thfs can't make multiple hits crit like dnc.

    Really that's part of the issue with it, its not nearly strong enough for its timer, a single spell in a single event for a minute or two with the same effects we get any other time we cast the spell, just its 100% chance to land, is not worth it, not even close.

    Just give us Paralyze III Bind III Slow III Dia IV Bio IV Dispel II Sleep III Poison III Phalanx III Regen III Refresh III and retool group 2 merits to be "Enhances Effect". After all of these changes, RDM might be slightly less worthless. These aren't even drastic spells. RDM is supposed to have high enhancing/enfeebling yet other jobs fill that role way better. A jack of all trades? We're like a 3 of all trades.

    Stymie has and always will be horrible as an SP ability. It's effect is that of a normal ability, and can only be used once. Even if enfeebling magic was the best thing ever, Stymie would still provide very little utility.

    The problem with Stymie is there's no middle ground to it. It's straightforward, and simple... it makes you land an enfeeble. That's it. There's no experimentation in that, at all.

    SE knows Stymie is bad, I know they do. But honestly Enfeebles as a whole is bad as well. I'm of the opinion that SE should just give up on making RDM so Enfeeble-focused. They've tried for years and it just hasn't worked out.

    I think they could make the job work if they went back in the direction of a mageblade job, the core of what RDM once was and has always been in other games. They did give us some great new melee gear in this update, which I can say did go with what I said in the OP about our only melee pieces being hands, very happy they made that change even if not the others which we still need. In the end, I gotta say, they could repair the job if they give it a shot, but we need a change, being stuck in this same old paradigm we have been in for years now with Enfeebling being our only real use, just isn't cutting it.

    Trouble is though, every time someone comes up with a great idea that would make RDM not suck and everyone jumps on-board, instead of acting on it SE just create a whole new job. Personally I just think someone at SEHQ secretly hates RDM.

    ive been a RDM when they where line jobs where if no PLD avilible RDM filled the tank job i play RDM as i do PLD and i am dissapointed that a fine job such as RDM is now a brd-2 or blm-2 or whm-2 there is no real gear in the new 'sparks` that a RDM can use... i like dyna gear for the auto refresh the af plus 2 gear us a plale imetation to the dyna 3 gear i wear now.... instead of 'reaugmating gear' how bout bringing RDM back to the line and make them respected again instead of laughed at thanks..... RDM frim mid 2002 us release

    with the upgrade to relic body enhancing skill, it will be possible to get 500 enhancing without having to swap in that enhancing skill dagger and still max out on enhancing duration. Here's how:
    404 base
    16 merits
    8 augmented zenith crown +1
    7 enhancing or colossus torque
    3 augmenting earring
    19 Vitivation Tabard +1
    6 estoqueur's cape
    5 olympus sash
    17 atrophy tights +1
    15 estoqueur's houseaux +2
    total: 500
    can also swap in an augmented aptus earring for +2 (obtained from chocobo key from Battaru Royale mission from Shantotto Ascension expansion) if want to use the enhancing +3 waist instead of the +5 or can't quite get that +8 augment on head.

    edit: just saw the Umuthi Hat with 13 enhancing skill. 500 is really easy now. don't even need to bother with the earrings.

    Thank you for pointing that out, I hadn't given this thought yet because of my anger at the job points. They fixed the problem though, I'm happy, now if only our new Job Points weren't basically completely worthless... Is it to much to ask to give us something good? I would have loved a Haste boost, 3/1024 per point or something, for now cap would only be 180/1024 but later on when the cap is at 30 we would have 240/1024 which is a very nice upgrade of nearly 9%...

    Edit > I know you wanted max duration but it just isn't worth the extra pieces of gear. Because as many have said before me that extra duration should've been put on the tights, not the freaking gloves.
